Hi, regarding ringworms, what are the symptoms exactly?

My kitten has been scratching excessively and I see tufts of hair coming out, but no bald patches (yet, hopefully never!). Its been going on for about less than a week now, I brought him to the vet and he gave him a shot of Ivomec for it. But he has still been scratching, and just today I noticed a really tiny, but still noticeable, bald macro-spot on this head, in between his ears.

I have also just recently switched him to royal canin fully, he used to get a pack as treats and never had issues with them.

How else can I identify whether its a case of earmites or ringworms? The vet checked for earmites and it came up negative.
