Ella has lost some of the texturing on her nose. I thought at first it was an injury and that Oscar must have hit it, but it's got worse and I took her to vets to get it checked out. They couldn't say there and then and I've got to bring her back at a later date to get scrapings under anaesthetic.

Any ideas on what it could be? It's difficult to get her to hold still for a close up but here's what I managed

Bengal nose is a dryness of the nose leather and not the skin of bridge or the nose itself.

Sorry I didn't describe it very well. If you look at the photo, it's above the nose leather, just below the line of the bottom of the eyes.

Vets asked if she'd been rubbing it against surfaces, but I haven't spotted her doing that with her nose. Claws yes, nose no.

It does look like he has scraped it on something. Are you sure he hasn't been betting his little snout into something to try to get at something he likes?

I agree 100% looks like the skin has been rubbed off. BB did this a while back when she was about 4 months old. She hates her carrier and I had to put her in when I took her to have her spayed. Little did I know they put her in it after surgery so she wouldn't be moved around a lot and she rubbed all of her fur/skin off of her nose! It was horrible!!! I would keep an eye on the little monkey and see if there is something that is under a shelf,door or anything that she could be trying to get to!!! If it doesn't start to look better in about a week(without trying to get to something) I would talk to the vet about being examined. I wouldn't worry to much about it unless its not getting better without irritation!
