Hiya all :-)
We took our furbabies for their 3 month post Neutering check-up today and when the vet weighed Cosmo he said to try not to let him get much heavier! Has anyone else experienced this?
They are both 9 months old, Cosmo is only a week older than Orion so there really isn't much in it with regard to age difference. Growing up they were both pretty much the same weight.
Today Cosmo was 4.9 kg and Orion was 4.75kg does this sound about right as neither of them are in any way fat! If anything Cosmo is like a body builder!
What do your furbabies weigh and what are their ages? Thank you for any comments :-)

I weighed Loki last week. :) He just turned 6 months old and weighs 7lbs (about 3.2kg) so I think he's doing good weight-wise:

I don't think 4.9/4.75kg for a 9 month old cat is too heavy, just as long as they don't have actual fat going on. :P Bengals seem to be a lot more 'solid' than most other cats, from what I've seen. So as long as he's not getting pudgy or round in the middle he's probably fine. :) Not sure why a vet would say something like that, unless he was joking. :?

What the scale tells you shouldn't matter much. It's their overall appearance, how easily you can feel their ribs and if they have a waist or not.
Some one here has a bengal under the age of 1 that weighs 8 kilos and is not in any way fat.
So as long as you can feel their ribs easily (but not too easily) and they have a defined waistline, you're good :)

Millie is a year and half and she is about 7.5lbs. I thought was was on the small side, but the vet said she was a healthy weight for her size and age :)

Max is 4 years old and weighs about 7kg. He has weighed this much since about 18months of age.

Cats do not stop growing until at least 12 months but closer to 18 months.

D not restrict the food of a 9 month old. They are still growing and require energy for growth spurts. I would not worry about a cat being overweight until it is over 12 months. So long as they are not so round that they can't wash/clean their own bum

I just took BB in and she weighs 5.2 pounds at 5 months! I thought that was alot but she is very lean but solid!! Remenber this especially with a muscular cat like a Bengal muscle weighs more than fat so as long as he keeps the muscular lean look I wouldnt worry about it and definately wouldnt alter his food!! I know a breeder that has a 10 month old male that is 15 pounds actually a little older at 10 months you would think that is a lot and he has to be fat but he is not he is just a big cat!! I would send pictures I know her pretty well but I will ask her first dont want to put her baby out there without permission but he is her new stud and making some really large babies!

I took Eric in on Monday to get his pre-snip check up, he's just over 4.5 months and weighs 2.9kg (6.39lb) but he is a big kitty I think, he was the biggest of his litter and already very long. There's not an ounce of fat on him, he eats like a small horse! The vet said she hasn't seen a cat in such great condition for a long time *proud face*

:D

I'm not changing anything he eats, at least until he is fully grown! Plus they both only eat as much as they want to eat, they often leave some food and I throw it away and they sometimes finish each other's off depends really how they feel and I know when there having a growth spurt as they both still ask for food when they've finished and it lasts maybe 2-4 days then there back to normal eating again.
I feed them 200g roughly each a day and when were at work (we do 3 shift rota so it's difficult to feed set meal times  ) we leave them 50g of dry each to they can have some when were not there, although there's usually a lot left when we get home. :D

Diablo is 15 months old and he is 3,9 kg last time I weighed him :). I don't think he is fat but he has a little belly but he is muscular cat and I see the difference between him and my Somali girl how much muscular he is.

I wanted to have photo with the post to show the "belly" :P.

But maybe I am wrong and he is fat, but I am starting to take him out in his walking jacket and there he runs around and explores the neighbourhood so hopefully he will not get any fatter :P.

I did a thread like this before - have a search for it.
My two were weighed a month ago so they would have been 16months old and they were 5.5kg and 5.3kg.

Someone mentioned a person having a cat under a year at 8kgs...that would be me :-)

Maiko is currently 10.5 months old and 9kgs and not fat in any way. Still has a defined waist and you can still feel his ribs when running your hands over them. He's just a very big cat - he's almost as big as my mums small kelpie and alot larger than my friends jack russel. He's been to the vets and they've told me he is not overweight for his size at all. I believe he's still got a good 6-12 months of growing to do so he will be a bear when he's fully grown.

I don't think I could live without my baby. It can be a bit of a pain (literally) when he decides he wants to sleep on my chest or wants to sit on me and knead, but I love the big oaf!

I went to the vet yesterday (next time I go I should invest in earplugs, SO much unhappy yowling) and results for 15 month old neutered males were:

5.25 kg
&
5.05 kg

I have been wondering if mine are tubbier then they ought to be, they both have little pot bellies when they lay down, but since they might have some growing left to do I am not going to worry about it just yet.
