If the kitten does have FLV (I wonder how the vet diagnosed it - if there are physical symptoms already that's really not good). The kitten could have gotten it from another cat at the breeder's or, even worse, could have contract the virus in utero from the mother. If your kitten does have FLV, it is almost certainly a violation of the pet contract you signed when purchasing the contract - and if you didn't sign on that contained clauses like that, I would really doubt the breeder's repuation.

If you have any other cats, please please segregate them if you haven't done so already. No sharing dishes, no sharing water, no contact.

The vet did a blood test at the office and said it showed traces of FLV. They want me to bring "Honey" back in on Friday to retest. She seems fine so far she is eating/drinking and playing like normal . She is very active. The breeder I got her from had several kittens in an enclosure together so really hope she does'nt have it otherwise ALL the kittens may be effected . I was told by the breeder to get her a kitten health checkup within the first week of ownership and if anything was wrong health wise I could get a refund but only if I took her to the vet within 7 days of purchase. I hope all your kittens and cats are in good health. I hate to think of anyone having to go through losing a kitten/cat we lost our beloved cat Jasmine two years ago and it was one of the worst days of my life. My girls age 5 and 11 miss her very much. I can't stand to think that we may lose another pet. I will keep you posted of the outcome. Thanks for your input. I'll keep praying for the best.

Was it a test like a pregnancy test (you put a drop of blood and wait for a spot (not) to appear) or did he have suspicions because of something like high white cells or something like that ?

Anyway, even if it's the snap test, sometime they don't work well (I did 2 for Chaos and on the 2 the FIV wasn't easily readable as the liquid didn't progress evenly), so maybe your vet didn't want to take risks and wanted to check again.

As I said, perhaps a lab test would be better than the snap test, you could perhaps ask for it.
