Evening All,

Moshi and Indiana's nails seem quite long now and I noticed Moshi seems to get his claws stuck now and again on the carpet. I had a look and there is nail to be trimmed away from the pink bit inside the nail (if that makes sense).

Can anyone recommend a good set of nail clippers and how often it should be done ?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Hehe, yup, I sneak up on sleeping cats, too. Binky likes being groomed and petted so much though that he'll purr right through getting all his nails clipped. Mikesch on the other hand will only allow me to do one paw at a time maximum, and only when he's in sleeping mode, so I usually have to clip his nails in several sessions to get them all done.

Thanks for the link tameeria it's fantastic explains it clearly and now I feel more confident about cutting them myself. Think I will invest in a new pair of Human Nail Clippers to make sure they are nice and sharp. Also think I'll take the advice of yours and AnnC and sneak up on them when they are sleeping hehe.

Buddy is a very light sleeper so sneaking up on him is impossible---I just take him to a local vet and have them trim his claws. Although I have never tried to trim his nails I know that it would take 3 of us to get the job done (with no blood shed)

Lotsa sucess with this.....giving him a pill or bath is probably less stress

I've just successfully clipped Moshi & Indiana's nails with no problems at all they sat and let me do it! Gave them some Salmon and Tuna Treats after though LOL.
