here's another for you. In my region, there is 2 kind of wood pellets: pine dust and hardwood dust.

I'm using the pine pellets, and wondered if anyone else uses the hardwood kind? I would think that it wouldn't be as good as pine, since pine has a natural arome to absorb/mask the urine scent. Dust from hardwood might be something to worry about...

Well, those were my ramblings for tonight!

There's also straw pellets and newspapers pellets that are worth trying ("Yesterday's news" for newspapers pellets).

Argh - don't bother with newspaper pellets! They STINK! The poo falls apart in the newspaper leaving lots of little bits to pick up, and the wee just sits there getting stronger and stronger. There's nothing to mask the smell.

I love wood pellets - it makes litter cleaning almost a pleasure!
