Oh man, 5 years ago! This discussion makes me smile. There used to be SO much passion in the forum about nutrition. A flame war every other week
But it could be entertaining though, and a lot of bright and passionate people then too, and everyone learned a lot. I miss most of them...
Vicky, did your kitty get tested and diagnosed for TF? My understanding is that there aren't that many labs that do this test, and TF still seems to be a surprisingly poorly known and understood affliction by the vet community. I know that a number of forum members have literally printed out the stickied article on TF and brought it to their vet, and said "here... read this", and only then gotten the treatment that they need.
If the problem here is that your cat hasn't been properly diagnosed and/or treated, it might be time to get a new vet. If the problem is that he was properly diagnosed, treated, and cured, but still suffering from some symptoms, then you might try food with unsweetened pumpkin in it. They sell unsweetened pumpkin in some pet stores (mostly marketed for dogs), and I've seen it in some grocery stores as well (Whole foods in the US). Also weruva makes at least one formulation of canned cat food that contains pumpkin.
