Open classes

Hi Wendy.

I have seen and heard this going on for years. I can see both sides of it and although a cat can get held back by these others who keep entering the Opens, I am a great believer in saying 'even the best can be beaten' and if a cat is good enough to get the title, he/she will get it regardless of others who are entered. Sometimes it is a case of finding a judge who particularly likes your cat, or of getting it just right and your cat being in tip-top condition when the other 'Top' cat maybe is out of coat?
It is a competition after all, and rightly or wrongly in some people's eyes, those 'top' titled cats are entitled to be there too. :wink:

Hi,

My girl has beaten some excellent cats to gain her 2 cc's. It was just more of a query as i'm new to the show circuit and have heard different views on this. It just made me laugh how this person complained about others entering and stopping her winning when she could be accused of the same thing! Another judge gave mine all the side classes we were both in and she wasnt pleased about that either!!! lolool
Hopefully my girls will be at shows in the summer after the parasites - sorry kittens- stop feeding from Tilly and Amberand go to new homes to reck havoc there instead of my house!!! lolool.

Any suggestions to get weight back on tilly would be helpful, she is a very lean muscular fit cat but looks thin compared to some of the cats on the show bench. She is very active and is always up trees or hunting. She is fed adlib royal canin (kitten at the mo then sensitive) and gets fresh chicken several times a week.

You could try her on some RC Babycat?
Good quality wet food can help put weight on too, as long as it doesn't upset her tummy.

Thanks, she is on the babycat. will get her some whiskas too as its the only one that doesnt upset her tummy.. I think she willl wean her babies at a decent time, her mum however loves feeding babies and will feed any available for as long as possible!

I love having babies about (though 11 is a bit ott!) its a great excuse not to do housework!
