Shantra has got me interested in this showing stuff!
So... anyone want to tell me where the nearest Tica show is to me (Cornwall)? I'd like to go and have a nosey round one to see what it's like.
Can people that are not showing go in any time or is there 'visiting hours'?! My little Ru is allowed to be shown (thanks Theresa!) and he is such a softy so you never know... :)

If you go to www.tica-uk.org.uk you will find a listing of all the TICA shows and this list is updated as new shows come along

Hi, The nearest show to Cornwall at all, ever, is a GCCF show.
This is the Kernow Cat Club show held in Paignton on the 3rd April.

Tica rarely comes anywhere near our end of the country (I'm in Devon) but luckily a new club has recently started, Westicat as mentioned, so that will be your nearest Tica show.

Hi Lyana
Until the local show is up and running the closest ones are Newbury and Bracknell. Ru should certainly show well and show do great with his type plus his temperament!!

Be warned, GCCF is completely different from TICA so don't let it put you off if you don't like the format :)
not sure which show we are going to next, due to decide at the weekend. The 16 ring show looked good but it's my mums 50th birthday!

I quite agree, don't let it put you off if you don't like the format. But - as they are so different, it’s really a matter of 'different strokes for different folks'.
I personally think that GCCF shows are gentler on the cat, but I know many Tica showers that would disagree! Tica is a far more social format for the human, but at the end of the day, it's your cat that chooses the format that suits it best. Some like the Tica format and some like the GCCF format.
I’m hoping that Westicat will be having a show at the beginning of June as I do love visiting them, but that wasn’t mentioned in the earlier post so I’m not sure whether it’s still happening.
