What a great show! It was wonderful to see all the new cats and kittens coming up and I just wish I had had more time to study each of them properly but I was busy doing table work and didn't even get time for a coffee with a friend I had especially meant to make time for - sorry Karen!
I took Ziggi on Exhibition in celebration of his new Imperial Grand Premier status. Photo below.
I've sent the full days Open results to the Friendly Felines website and they can be viewed here: - http://shows.friendlyfelines.co.uk/index.php

We had 2 of our little boys in the pen next to Ziggi so we got to meet this fabulous boy in person :D His show career is amazing and all his rosettes/titles are so well deserved :D

A big thank you to Annie for bringing this boy along and allowing us to meet him and to hear all about him :D

PS Your website is brilliant Annie :D

Well, Sir Ziggi looks as regal as ever sitting there Annie! You did a grand job with the pen and showed off all his titles and awards very professionally. How strange it must be for you to not have Ziggi in competition any more, now he has got to the very top! Great to see you both there, and hopefully we will have that coffee soon!!

Mmmm - well, he has got one or maybe two more shows this year before he can completely hang up his mittens but yes, it will be very strange.
As you know, the pride that I have for him is bursting out of my ears and at the age of nearly nine it's wonderful that he can still win the Big ones. It took a VERY frustrating FOUR years for the GCCF to finally promote the Brown spotties from Provisional to Championship status, and by that time I never thought for one minute that Ziggi would get to the very end because of his age. In fact, I was going to retire him when he was made up to Grand if it hadn't been for encouragement from fellow showers to keep going.
Ziggi will have certainly earned his retirement, but he is a such a Gannet and if he thinks it's an excuse for letting his waistline go, he's got another think coming!!

Gosh Annie, I can remember Ziggi's "first" big award all those years ago. It was the Bengal Cat Club annual show and Ziggi got Best In Show Neuter and my boy Olly got Best In Show Adult. We had a big hug didnt we :D

Yes Sue, I well remember. It was 2002 and Ziggi had a c**p day with only 2x4th places. I was feeling quite dejected and was in the cafe when Gerry came rushing in saying that Misti was in the BIS pens. So it was Ziggi's sister that was the star of the show that day - not Ziggi. She was one of the first tri-coloured Marbles being shown and in those days she did much better than Ziggi. He was a cat that was not very interested in food then and was consequently rather thin. Hard to believe now by how often he breaks into the fridge and he can also hear a tin of tuna being opened from two fields away! I've NEVER known such a greedy cat.
Hope to see you soon Sue.
