Does anyone supplement with ground flax? I've seen it used with horses, to improve the quality of their coat.

With bengals, its important to keep the grains in small amounts. For example, corn and wheat are two of the leading causes of allergies in small animals. The feline nutritionists recommend that you keep the cat's grain consumption--even brown rice in their food --low as they don't have the same needs for grains as humans do and may cause digestion problems. Many of the commercial foods have grains and by-products listed in the top 5 ingredients. Any food that names those two things in the top 5 are not considered good for bengals. That's what I have been told over at Bengals-L and I do agree. That's why I use high quality cat foods and keep an close eye on the labels.
