I have shown my bengals a lot in FIFe, but tomorrow we have a whole different experience ahead. The first TICA show in Scandinavia ever. Show is held in Porvoo, Finland. There supposed to be a lot of bengals :D I am sooo exited (and a little bit nervouse too). Any last minute tips?

These are our judges. Familiar to you? What do they like about bengals?

Vickie Fisher (USA)
Amanda Bright (CAN)
Irene van Belzen (NE)
Geneviere Basquine (FRA)
Thomas Andersen (DK)
Vlada Beninya (RUS)

I am going to take a LOT of pictures, thats for sure :)

Most importantly relax and enjoy it!!

TICA shows are fun because they are friendly and the cats are spectacular. You have a nice set of judges and I am sure you will find the show fun and informative.

Look forward to hearing your results!!! :D

oh how exciting! :D

as babs said, relax & enjoy it! chat to your fellpw exhibitors, keep a close eye on the numbers in each ring so you don't miss yours when it's time...chatting to other people with bengals helps as they will tell you when it's your turn in case you miss it.

best of luck & be sure to let us know how it goes, & i look forward to those piccies! :D

Good luck at the show. I've never been to any cat shows anywhere - I'm starting to think I should try it some time (just as a visitor, not to show)

Absolutely ginnym!! There is nothing like being in a hall full of cats!

Kapatrick, love your Lara, she is gorgeous!! Like Ren says it is much easier if you remember your cat numbers, and look out for them. They usually send someone to find you if they have called your cat and you have not responded.

Fill in the catalogue as you go along, it will be a big help at the end of the show. It is a tiring day, but it is worth it.

We definitely will help you figure out the results once it's over.

good luck with the show, lara is really pretty - good luck Lara! :D

ginny, you should go, I went to the northern counties cat show, there was loads of different breeds, some small some monsterous size cats, they was also a section for moggies, it was a fun couple of hours, and I got to meet a couple of bengal breeders too who where showing their cats.

Yeah, I was thinking that I should keep an eye out for the next show in the NE - that's probably as close as they come to me, although Manchester/Lancashire would be just as convenient.

I've never taken any interest in cat shows until I came on here and I don't have any interest in showing any of mine but I'd quite like to go as a spectator sometime. What's the best way of finding out when and where they're being held?

For the TICA shows go on to the TICA UK site www.tica-uk.org.uk
There is a link to all the shows

For the GCCF go to www.gccfcats.org
New revamped site but the show dates will be there somewhere

Regards

Which are the best ones to go just to nose around (and maybe buy some stuff)?

Vicki Fisher is a VERY nice, wonderful judge. You will notice that she does a lot of explaining about the breed and is very informative! She is the president of the SW Region here in the States (the region we are in). I have never met the other judges (but really hope to someday, ).

If you want to see Bengals go to a TICA show as usually they have the most in numbers, but if you want to buy stuff then GCCF shows usually have heaps of stalls.

Nowhere's particularly civilised but Doncaster's better than some  . I'll see what's going on with football fixtures and have a think about going.
