I am hoping to enter my bengal in a tica show. We have so far only attended a couple of GCCF shows. It says curtains are optional. I have never attended a Tica show before so I wondered if it wss 'the norm' or if I need to get some made quick! :o

Any advice would help here.

Hi Lily

Luke and I went to a TICA show on Saturday it was great fun...one of our home-bred Bengal Alters gained a Grand Champion title...very exciting.

I would say that 95% of cages had curtains; others (mainly new comers like yourself) just used their GCCF whites in the cage. It isn't essential and you can still show your cat but most people do dress their cages. I have some UK cage measurements if you're thinking of making your own but if you're not sure then just take your whites for the first show and then have a look at what everyone else does.

I think its better to have curtains just for the sake of the cats privacy......We have about a quarter of the cage at the front totally covered just so they can hide away if they feel threatened or frightend!

Also a cover for the roof of the cage is a good thing.....some of these show halls can be very bright and not very nice for a cat to be stuck in all day, Anything to make them feel more safer and comfortable will make them more easier to handle when ring time comes around.

Which Tica show are you thinking about attending.....BCCGB?

Hi!
It looks as if the entries are now closed, so I may enter later in the year at another Tica show. I may attend the BCCGB Tica show anyway just to get an idea about this 'curtain' thing, and of course to see what happens when I do.

Hope to meet you both and to see your bengal clan of course! :D

Good luck

Hi Lily

I'm pretty sure they'll accept entries until the end of this week. I know the deadline has expired but it's only a few days. We only posted ours yesterday and I've had an email today saying it has been accepted.

If you're still keen to enter, down load the form and send it off with a self addressed envelope. If they can't accept it they'll send you your cheque back...you've got nothing to lose!

P.S if you do enter and want a hand filling in the entry form give me a ring and we can do it together over the phone (after 6pm). You can get our phone number off our website's "contact us" page.

Regards
