Has anyone ever been to this show? Ocicat & Bengal Cat Club, Sports & Leisure Centre, Bagshot Road, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12 9SE.

As we have an Ocicat and now a Bengal we thought we might take a look. I am on nights tonight and it is nearly 80 miles away so I was wondering if it worth me staying up all day for.

Is anyone else going, could say hello?

Sorry, but I am going to the Cattica (TICA) show in Newbury.

Shows are great fun and either would be well worth a visit!

Hi.
I did see that one as well. It is years since I went to a show, used to go to the National with a friend from school many years ago.
I am open to suggestions. In your opinion which one would be the better show? As long as we can see some Ocicats and Bengals we would be happy. Which one will be more likely to have forum members attending?

We went to the Cattica show on the Sunday in the end. I was on nights on the Friday and it fitted in with something my husband wanted to do. I was surprised how small the show was as I had only ever been to the National one in London which was huge. Met some nice people, saw some beautiful cats. Much to his surprise my husband had a Singapura kitten placed in his arms. If we didn't have Max and Zuki and the bank balance allowed it I think we might have given in to it's charms. :)
We saw a little of the Bengal kitten judging. I stood next to a lady who's kitten was doing well so I asked some questions, turns out it was Karen, (Suntouched). Her little one was lovely and very well behaved.

I went when it was still held in The Great Hall Olympia back in the late 70's. Wall to wall cats and an excited buzz from the owners. Fantastic atmosphere with a few famous faces around like Rolf Harris. My school friend used to show her British Shorthair, Paddington so I was invited along a couple of times.

yes it used to be great - I went to the last one (2007 I think) it was very sparse to say the least, apparently they were losing lots of money

I suppose the venue costs a lot to hire. Doesn't matter where it is really, it is the cats and the people involved that matter :)

It's sad that the National has now become "just another show", it used to stand out as something special.
Now the only really different one is the Supreme (this coming Saturday at the Birmingham NEC). Hundreds of cats, hundreds of stalls, far larger than any of the other shows with some educational talks by vets & lots more going on throughout the day.
