lol, that is quite a bit of money for a mixed breed.

Another scam that is going around involves setting up a pretty convincing website (not hard considering how amateur most cattery sites are) and listing kittens for sale with lots of pix and stuff. Entire thing is designed to get the deposit money. If done right they can collect 1000's in a few weeks and then it all vanishes like it never existed.

Never pay for anything using Western Union as they is no way to ever trace who picked up the money. I'm a web developer and lately the trades and forums I frequent have been abuzz with talk of these types of scams, ie fake websites taking payment on great deals using hacked/stolen paypal accounts.

We have had the faked half price sports car/motorbike/atv thing for quite a while now. My local craiglist listings are at least 10% scam ads. I guess purebred animals is just one of the latest iterations.

I reported this advert on Pets4Homes to their administrator who agrees that the price is far too low & he's going to contact the seller to find out what's going on. I think it's bad that these people can get away with trying to sell kittens that are very obviously not what they say they are.

Some breeders do sell pure-bred proper Bengal kittens at £200 so they can "get rid" of the kittens, as they may have more due and do not have the space for growing cats.
I also know a very well known breeder who told me that one year she had to give away kittens as she didn't have the space and more were due.

The cross Bengals selling as pure Bengals is more of a worry in my eyes.

If someone buys one of them cross Bengals thinking they are full Bengals then they not only need their eyes testing but their brain too. Sorry but if people are that stupid then they deserve to be ripped off.

lol, I thought it was a slang. My google search didn't show a brand or package or anything.

So I just clued in that there are two links to two different ads for Bengals. I saw the 2nd one, the one with the obvious domestic crosses, and thought that was what the thread was based on.

The first ad, ya those are Bengals or certainly appear to be. Pretty good looking as well. If I lived there I'd be tempted to look into it but I'd be very cautious about it. Every con starts with the offer of a good deal.

I think these kind of scammers are evil! especially as I've just had my bank account hacked. My money has all been sent to Canada and I got paid last night but the bank have taken it! :cry:

I actually had a chat with hubby last night and we decided that even if this deal is "as good as it sounds"

we aren't gonna go for it.

basically, you can go for a deal like this and "maybe" it will work out perfectly for you,

but maybe it wont. and particularily with the risks of kittens being born and raised in huge quanitities in small environments, and the added health concerns, we would not only be risking setting ourselves up for a fall. we would be risking the health of our existing and very precious family

when the choice is spending £200 and taking that risk, or spending £400-£600 and knowing that you have made a good choice and done everything you can to minimise that risk...

well there really isnt much of a choice is there.

I dont mean any insult to this breeder and it may well be that he/she simply has fallen on hard times and needs to make some space for new kits, but
"when a deal looks to good to be true..... it probably is"

i hope im deciding right.
