Would love to pick the brains of experienced breeders. I have a mentor but would love multiple opinions.
Must haves for delivery?
Are you involved in delivery or leave mom alone?
What cleaners do you use in cat areas?
What do you use for birthing area?

Please add any other suggestions

Currently, I think Ontario Bengals is our only breeder who posts regularly. There used to be dozens of breeders on here. Hopefully, she will come on here and answer your questions.

There are some great posts on deliveries in here already - you should definitely take a look at those. I will say a few things though:

Mom *should* handle most of the delivery on her own. So you should be mostly hands off. You are there to make sure that:
1> She doesn't miss anything
2> Handle things when something goes wrong or seems off

We watch every single kitten that comes out and make sure that they start breathing. If Mom takes too long to get them out of the sack, we help with that. If she leaves the cord alone or it's too long we help with that. Those are the quick things; but there's also making sure they get in and are nursing and the mom cleans them. We count / remove placentas that sit around too long.

For birthing we use something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01NHFNPGF?th=1
It's a popup enclosed area.
We cover it with sheets to make it dark for her and it allows us to get in from the top or the sides as necessary; but still gives her an enclosed dark space where we can control the actual location and it's easy to clean. We put towels / sheets inside and we have a blankets and heating pad underneath.

For cleaners we use this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KM9X9LQ as our primary cleaner.

We are based in Canada so we have to get it custom shipped to us through friends in the US; but for us, it's the best stuff we've used especially with regards to the overall smell while cleaning and after.
