I do think you have been quizzed rather a lot on this thread. I do think you are going about breeding the right way and certainly cannot be criticised for it in the slightest. I have no doubt that we will be hearing from you as a breeder at some point.

I know this is less important some of the decisions you will have to make but one thing I will advise is to join a few relevant cat clubs now. Think very carefully about whether you want you own prefix and what you want it to be. Will you register kittens with TICA or GCCF? Do you want a prefix with both or just one. Check the prefix lists against what you would like. I know the GCCF need you form signed by a cat club. Some cat clubs will require you to be a member for 1-2 years before they will sign a form. Breed clubs tend to be more like 1 year but regional cat clubs can be 2 years.

On the subject of drugs used to control calling, I do know of breeders that routinely use medication with good effect and no untoward results. Prof Tim Gruffydd-Jones is often asked abut the use of Ovarid and continues to give his approval of its use and advises that the small dose (I believe 1.25mg though do not quote me on that) rarely gives any problem when given every few weeks for a few times. I also know that it is common to use an injectable or implant in Europe. Again, with few complications. Whilst I know there is opposition to its use and also people that have used it and had dire results, the use of medication is becoming more commonplace in many breeds.
