You need to ask yourself what is the purpose of your program, and your goals. What do you wish to achieve?

My first thoughts are:-
Your own queen is a girl with big rosettes and the cats you wish to acquire are not the rosetted type of Bengal, they are from small spotted lines.
It will be an uphill battle maintaining or developing the rosetting with that stud and girl, also your rosetted girl will bring nothing to marbled lines either.

My thoughts were as above aswell, What are you looking to achieve? What are your goals? Personally I dont like marbles, I also found them harder to sell, spotties are nice, but I like the rosettes, to me that is a bengal :)

So its kinda up to you, they also look like older cats, I have been there done there, always a reason someone sells older cats for breeding, in my expereince it isnt for the love of the cat

You seem like a new breeder? Personally I think you should wait for a stud, we waited many years and I have retured him at just 2 & half years old due to the life they lead, its not very nice :( Constant crying, spraying, in the end pooping everywhere, attacking the girls, so we built him a house outside which he hated, in the end we neutered & rehomed him, his a lovely indoor pet now :D I think that its best to use the best outside studs you can, keep back the best girls then down the line buy a boy in, thats what we did. Now I have my girls 3rd-4th gen, and a 1st gen my keeper stud boy, who again will be neutered after his first litters as I dont want him living outside, it isnt a nice life for them :(

So its kinda up to what are you looking to achieve? Do you really want to put a lovely rosetted girl to a spotty and you may get all spots? or a stunning rosetted boy to compliment her?

What Im doing this year is using all outside boys, the best ones I can find all over the country and using a animal courier to get to them! Then keeping a girl back, yes it costs more but thats the way it goes, will really compliment what Im trying to achieve.

So dont jump into stud ownership or a older girl you have a older girl, then are more fussy terrotorial, say they dont get on? Much better to get a kitten :)

Sorry I could go on forever Im starting to wander now lol!

I am not a breeder but I have to agree with Junglerose on this one!The stud doesn't have the same markings that your current girl has and IMO I wouldn't want to take away from your girls rosettes. Hers are stunning, big, open rosettes which is what most people want! A flashy , WOW factor Bengal which is what she is and has! If it were me I would try to find a stud with the same type markings and concentrate more on the type and "standard" for a Bengal. I think the marble queen looks nice and has a very open contrasted marble pattern! If you were wanting to breed marbles I think she would be a nice addition, paired with a stud that has a more horizontal flow to the marble they would have nice kittens :D Are you wanting to breed for marbles or just rosettes?

The marble looks to have good type as does the boy. I guess as others have said it all depends on what you want to achieve. If you are looking to introduce marbles (does the stud carry?) or if you are looking to introduce different features - the stud looks to have a lovely fat tail, wild look and nice ears - he doesnt look like a mature boy though to me? I could be wrong though, if he is I would prefer a stronger muzzle & head - but he has no jowls so I expect he is still young and developing.

Your girl has a very clear silky coat whereas the other two look to be slightly ticked and no glitter - so again depends on what coat type you are looking for. Also your girl has quite a dark brown coat (could be the photos) so personally I would want to lift that colour to a more rich tri-colouring....but thats just me - we all know Bengals are all down to personal preference...excellent to hear they are being screened - I hope regardless of your decision they have good results :)

Sorry i have posted back, I decided earlier today I am not going with these two cats. I'm sticking to my guns and keeping with the stud I've already picked out with open rosettes from a reputable breeder. I plan on sticking with an open pattern and pure for spotting. Sorry for the lapse in judgement :/
I am still starting out and trying to get my ducks in a row. Im going to hold out for now. Thanks for all the replies I really do appreciate everyone's advice and take all of it to heart! I need as much support as can get.

That is great I was personally hoping you wouldn't pair Smokey Taboo with him, I would hate to see rosettes like that lost  I think you are headed in the right direction and first before all else health screening your breeding cats. I think there is also an upside to getting your own kittens from either a breeder or keeping them back yourself from your litters. The fact that the kittens parents and hopefully grand sire and dam are health screened and there will be a larger generation gap that you can look into for things like HCM!!! I think you will have a good "gut feeling" about what you want and what would be good for your cattery and the breed. Do like you said stick to your guns!!! I think that seeking advice from the breeders on the BCF is a very wise decision because they have been there and know what is going to better the breed and what genetics does this and that, so keep at it! :D You are off to a good start!!!
