does anyone elses breeding queen do this??

Meg my ragdoll girl does something that I havent seen before, it reminds me of what wild cats do...

When her litter is about 6-7weeks old she will wander the house and 'catch' a toy... its always the toy rat or a white da bird (its very fluffy) or a mouse toy when they are older!

she then wanders around crying at the top of her lungs with the toy in her mouth.. she then comes to the kittens crying and drops it in front of them and crys, she hits it and crys at them to come and do the same!!

So its like she is bringing them little animals so they can learn to hunt!! :shock:

It is really amazing to watch, none of my other girls have ever done this so I wondered if anyone else has experienced it?? I will film it on her next litter!

She is gorgeous - I love the one of her sitting proudly over her litter. I don't know about the fetching a toy thing but it does sound as if she's showing them what to do.

my cats are indoor cats so catching outside animals sint a option! i wouldnt like that!

I have a queen who does this with socks, she 'hunts' them down and i can hear her from all over the house calling to the kittens with a sock hanging out of her mouth! She starts them young as well, i have found a pile of socks next to a litter of week old babies :lol:

That's a very cool behavior, I'd love to see it.

I have an unrelated question though... what in the world is the interaction like between a bengal and a ragdoll? I would love to see that. I can't help laughing just contemplating it, bengals being so active and loving to play rough, and ragdolls having the opposite reputation.

yes there are loads with bengals & raggies playing, however the older ones dont play as the bengals are very dominant and it just scares them.

the kittens always got on the bengal did push it but they gave as good as they got, sometimes worse!
