I didnt haggle for Jasper as I didnt know what to expect and thought it was rude. I did for Keeta and I am not ashamed to admit it.

I take damn good care of my babies so i think it very judgement to make that statement about people. I understand if the first thing to come out of their mouth is about knocking down the price then fair enough but to put everyone in that box is unfair!

We have been breeding for 3 years now and are still making a loss, last year it was about £3,000 allowing for the cost of a new stud cat & breeding queen. Anyone who thinks breeding pedigree cats correctly will make you money is very misguided.
Fortunately my other business subsidises the cat breeding.
Vet bills (just dont ask!!!!!)
Stud fees (roughly 300-400)
Show entry fees (with petrol entering 2 cats in a show is about £100 per cat show)
Food bills (currently £150 a month) more when we have kittens
Cat litter (£45 a month)
Vaccinations & worming each kitten
Registration Fees
Toys & treats
I breed one litter per year from a queen.
I breed because I love my cats, people buying these cats do not realise how much it costs to breed properly, perhaps if you churn out substandard cats & have several litters per year from the same queen, feed them on rubbish food and dont give them proper veterinary treatment you would make money. I would rather make a loss and care for my babies properly.

I agree, my husband shows and breeds dogs that sell for £1800 yet we keep them pups for only 10 weeks although, vaccinations, vet checks, registration papers ect all amount to about the same. Kittens are much cleaner but require a lot af care all the same.

If people already know the prices, why ring? If they dont then surely they should do research into how much the cats cost before they bother ringing? People will always try to get you down but £200 cheaper??? If they can tafford the cat then they wont be able to afford the ongoing care your kits will need. Cheeky Monkeys!

I had a friend the other day who asked me if I had any kittens available after I had posted some photos of the gang on my fb. I dont, but he decided there and then he wanted a kitten so when out the next day and got an 8week old moggie. The following day he posted how he was very poorly and had to go to the vets, in the early hours of the morning the poor baby passed away
