Tarka is driving me nuts, i've tried a wide variety of food. She is a Tuna Freak, so i buy Whiskas or Felix As Good As It Looks and tinned tuna, she can go crazy and wolf it down and then on the next feeding time turn her nose up as if you just tried to poison her. Sometimes you think your on to a winner and give her cooked prawns, the next time you try she'll spit it back at you and eat raw prawns. Every day just seems like a battle at meal times.
The other day i tried her on sliced chicken, she loved it and now she won't even look at it. Sometimes when i put food down to her she will just lick the jelly or gravy from it and leave the meat.
Any suggestions? I'm just worried she's not eating enough.

Your cat is a gourmet diner, one day she has caviar the next day she wants foie gras the next truffles and on it goes. I am afraid to say it but she is spoilt.
Pouches and other premium food includinig dry foods contain vitamins, minerals, and other essentials eg taurine. They are actually better for her as they are more balanced than the treats she is existing on.

You need to get into a routine with the food, and don't always comply with her demands.
If you feel she is ill and is really not eating then she needs to see a vet, otherwise if there is only one food down provided it has not gone "off" then she will eat it eventually.

Get some really good quality dry food Royal Canin, Hills, Burns, James Wellbeloved etc. and leave it down for her so that she has always that option and start leaving the wet food until she eats it.

Treats like tuna and chicken and prawns do not need to be given every day.

Hi junglerose, thanks for the advice there, and yep she is spoilt. She got worse when she lost her brother and i guess we comfort fed her.
I've found recently that she likes HiLife Tuna pouches so i'm going to try her on some of the other flavours.
She's not a great fan of dried food and she always has it there, but i will try some of those you have suggested

We had a breakthrough today with Hills I have JWB to try another day too. She adored the Hills dry food, she seems much more satisfied tonight...Worship to you all!!!!
I've been reading other feeding tips around the forum too, i need to change my own attitude to her feeding and try not to worry too much.
