Giving chicken legs/bones etc .. to your bengal

An then we find him on our spare bed resting.

also a favourite for all mine is raw chicken mince and their favourite favourite is Ox Cheek !
they go mad for it!

I have never seen him to happy when he is eating one compared to the rest of his food.

I am definetly going to get my boy some chicken thighs! It's weird coz my girl has never seemed to be too keen on things like that .. she is more interested in 'human' food :lol:

Hi everyone,

I've always given my cats raw chicken drumsticks....they are so funny when they start growling and warning off other cats around them.

One of our stud boys will go round and round in a circle shouting his head off when he sees his chicken leg :lol:

I have a question and hope I don't sound stupid. I've always thought that when we are going to give our cats raw meat, am I right in thinking that it must be frozen first to kill off any bacteria ?
When I've bought chicken drumsticks they're usually the ones from the freezer but occasionally I've bought them from the fridge area and have then put them in the freezer, Thawed them out before giving them to my cats....is this crazy or is it correct to do this :oops:

k, I read this and thought I would do the same. mind you i have 4 cats, ONE of which is a bengal. I put out 2 legs, they thought I was trying to kill them, they wouldnt go near it! after about 15 min of everyone sitting around eyeballing it, i rubbed it on Ziggys foot and after cleaning his foot he began to eat one, then itchy began to eat one. I ended up throwing them both (only nibbled on) away.

HA HA...I know what you mean, some of my youngsters will sit and stare at the chicken legs too. Like they are thinking " what the hell is that " :lol:

I have found the ones that won't entertain a chicken leg will actually eat it if I cut it up and put it in a dish.

I think I'll keep to the idea of freezing the raw chicken first/thawing eat before feeding it to them. I know some people worry about ecoli but we've never had a problem...touch would we don't :shock:

Is there an age that bengals can start to eat raw chicken and or raw fish?
My boys are only 3 months old. Should I wait until they are more grown to give them these treats?

We've been given Oska raw chicken drumsticks since we had him (13 weeks).
He just loves them, Harvey (our maine coon kitten) loves them too but he's too lazy and I have to take the meat off the bone for him.

You will be amazed at the noise they make when they know it's on it's way.
