Hi to all,
Can anyone give me any ideas on how to get Tia to eat dried food, ive tried every brand i can find, but we have the same response every time, she sniffs the bowl, steps over it , and starts to scrape at the ground, just as if she we covering something in her litter tray
which is sooooo funny to watch, but also frustrating, as im sure dried food is better for her teeth.
Any suggestions PLEASE

firstly it might not mean that she doesnt want to eat the dried food when she s covering up i think it means she storing it for later.....i think they may have this trait from the asian leopard cat,but anyway shes obviously not too keen on them so try using meat in jelly you know the ones you can get either in cans or pouches and really mix them up together.....once she starts eating them (hopefully) she will have a taste for them and you can take away the meaty jelly little by little until she is on the biscuits alone.
we give our cat the best of both half half mix dried and wet food all day then just before bed time only dried food to help clean her teeth and also first thing in the morning.

I will give this a go and get back to you on how it goes

Its not going well, she knows it's in there even if there's only a couple of bits,
and would rather miss a meal than give it a try im hopeing that when we pick up our new boy in July that when she see's him eating dried food that she will want to give it a go ( we can only hope )

Try feeding her the same flavour meat day in/day out but at the same time leave a small amount of biscuits in a dish next to the meat.

Hopefully, she will get fed-up of eating the same flavour meat and will eat the biscuits for a bit of variety.

Or, you could go for the really hash approach. Don't put down any meat just put down biscuits...she may not eat for a couple of days and will no doubt lose a little weight but eventually she WILL eat the biscuits (trust me on this one )
