My cats are crazy about these, they were called Dreamies in UK and they have been having them as treats daily, often on food but I have read recently these have been linked to cats being ill.

my cats eat combination of
BBF tuna and salmon in aspic (no grain)
Buffalo dry food (not a lot, usually topping on fish)
raw chicken

Never had any problems with Temptations but now wonder if I should switch to party mix?
I also give them Sheeba sticks - would appreciate opinion on this too.

Many thanks

Martina

Temptations Tasty Chicken Flavor (flavor?) Cat Treats:
Chicken by-product meal, ground corn, animal fat, dried meat by-products, brewers rice, wheat flour.

Owch! Yea, I don't think you can feed them anything worse than that, at least nothing that isn't toxic to them. Seriously, the best treats are the freeze dried meats (like these: https://www.chewy.com/purebites-chicken ... -/dp/35896), or things like frozen chicken necks, chicken legs etc. These are at least not near as bad:

Hi Brian, my cats don't care for healthy treats  I tried - and yes I agree, they are crap ingredients but I figured they are treats, they get maybe 10 each a day or less so not sure if people were feeding that as food and had problems or cats were sensitive to them. My friend gave a bowl of them to her daily cat and the cat can eat as much as she likes (and is fine by the way).

My cats also don't like raw food or raw stuff apart from raw chicken meat (breast best, leg meat too but not as much as breast). Also I found when they ate wings, bones and bone marrow would be spread to carpets and they would play with crushed bone - I just don't have the stomach for it.

From what I read online, the issues people raised were that Temptations might be made in China and there could be something seriously harmful in them. The rate of fraud in China is 75% and food fraud is common - with latest being plastic being mixed with rice. Hard to tell as manufacturers often don't know themselves and are being lied to and are not always open to hear when you report it (I reported several garments of clothing which are obviously not cotton but cheaper alternatives such as wood pulp and was just told it is cotton) so just didn't want to poison my cats.

My kits love Temptation Treats, too. But I am not buying them anymore. Will find something healthier as there is an ingredient in Temptations that is a carcinogen. And the way my cats go crazy over them, especially Raiden who prefers the treats to any dry food = I'm going to have to hold back. Their addition to Temptation is like my addiction to Cheetos. Give me a party size bag and it's gone in an instant.

I think 10 pieces of those treats is practically a meal for a cat.

You know what I've been doing for the past year or so, is that when I go to the grocery market, I always stop by the deli and buy a small quantity of unflavored turkey. That is actually my cats main snack now. And it's become an essential part of their routine. Every morning they know that they each get a piece of turkey, and it's their favorite snack anyway, but also good for them... just high quality meat.

Tinny, did you ever find any of those primo cat food places in Seattle? If you ever get to Portland I can take you to one here, we have great cat places here.

Ha ha ha Sherry I know what you mean, chocolate for me

Brian, yes I have, thank you. I love Mudbay. Haven't really been to Seattle much for pet food as we live in Kirkland I only learnt to drive recently and still fear freeways (you guys do everything big and scary).
I tried all sorts of foods, my cats don't care for most of Weruva foods and one throws up Tiki tuna food so we settled on BBF which is made by Weruva. I bought raw stuff from Mudbay and it was no joy for both. Bindi likes ham and turkey and gets cooked chicken as treat but Nini doesn't care for that (eats raw chicken).
I think I will phase Temptations out - they are junk and they do go crazy for them, which means they are addictive.

I've been driving for 50 years and the interstates still scare me to death!!! LOL.

I know 10 Temptation treats are the max, but Raiden wants to make a meal out of them. That has to stop. I give in because he will sit next to me on the arm of the couch for 30 minutes and then he will start to dig in after the treats which are hidden behind a pillow on the couch. If I've left the thing out, he will knock it over and hope it opens for the treats. I've bought the better treats and he won't touch them either, so we'll have to stop them all together. He needs to eat regular food.

Oh ... and chocolate for me, too!!!! Cheetos, dark chocolate and licorice are my fave things in the world.

All my cats have always had treats.

Pearl has a few dreamies every day and Magic has some goody bag mix I have never had a problem, they also have a few webbox sticks if they want them, but I don't give them in any quantity just a few as a treat.

My 2 do not like the fancy treats that are made of meat, I end up throwing them away which is a total waste of money.

I sent away for these treats after reading posts on here about how cats love them. I gave a couple to my cats and one of them thew up so badly I tossed the bag.

My Chewy order this week contains much healthier treats, which the cats probably won't even like, but it's worth shot. They aren't that expensive to worry about. I've also been feeding them an assortment of grain free wet and dry food, which has been somewhat of a success. They devoured the first few cans, but now, the tuna feast no longer entices them. Thankfully, I only have a couple cans of each as I ordered the variety packs. I still have some Temptations and Raiden thinks they are his meals. Can't wait for them to be gone.

I feed them a variety -- chicken, beef, turkey, tuna, salmon, shrimp -- it's never the same for any meal, but what they devoured initially, they turn their nose up. So, I just keep ordering different varieties. At some point, we will come back around to the initial ones. Odd thing is ... both cats love certain things, then one cat will like it and not the other. It is frustrating and the raccoons eat well every few nights with the leftovers.

Well I stopped Temptations and swapped for Party mix - not sure that is better but am trying to cut it right down :(
No more sheeba sticks too.
