Hey guys,

Found this forum really helpful in the past so have come back to ask yet another question.

I have 2 bengals - one brown rosetted (9 months) and one silver rosetted (7 months). Both get really excited when I pick their bowls up to fill them with food.

However the 9 month old will never eat a full sachet of food, sometimes only eating half or a quarter and gets distracted by something else in the room and never finishes his meal. However the 7 month old will happily eat everyones food and even begs for human food.

Just wondering why he does this? I even mash the food up (as the breeder I got him from did this as he'd just eat the jelly off the food when he was a baby).

They've always been fed the same food ever since they were really little :)

I would say that like people some cats just aren't food motivated.

We have a girl who's a grazing eater. She likes to keep coming back and can get easily distracted. For a while we have a special feeder that only opens for her micro chip so that she can eat over time.

You have a grazer. My Raiden is one as well. It will take him several sittings to actually finish his bowl of wet food. I have an outdoor cat that licks the bowl clean immediately. Just depends on the cat. There is nothing wrong with either ... it's just the way the kitty prefers to eat. The only issue with having one of each is that the one who finishes the food may then want to head to the other bowl and finish that as well. I'm sure it would be nice to have two of the same, but you don't! Just something you will have to live with and make sure the grazer does get enough food.
