My Boy is only 3 months old and from what I understand kittens should not be restricted on food amounts. However he does seem to want food constantly! It doesn't matter how much I feed him or how regularly I feed him he is constantly on the hunt for more, be it my lunch I'm preping on the side which he will constantly jump onto the side to get at, or if he's just finished his meal he will be straight back into the kitchen expecting another bowl full. He's like a magnet to anything food!

Is this normal?

he does currently have a loose/blood spotting stool issue which is being resolved as we speak but when I mentioned his appetite to the vet they didn't seem concerned, more happy that he's not lost his interest in food.

Yes. This is totally normal. Feed him as much as he wants!
Quasar used to eat up to 16 oz raw daily as a wee kit.
Now, at 4 1/2, he only eats 8 oz a day.
He has never been overweight to any degree.

I wistfully remember his ravenous kitten hood.

Every kitty is different, but kittens do need to eat multiple times a day. There are some that get ravenous and can't seem to get enough. With stomach upset -- they usually do not want to eat much, but with runny poo, the food is just going straight through and is probably not being processed through the digestive tract the way it should be, so if he is willing to eat, do not restrict his diet at this time. Get him well and then see where he's at.

Is there such a thing as a 3 month old cat who can eat too much and get obese? Yes. But the thing to also keep in the back of your mind is that your little kitten, as a male bengal, is probably going to grow into a 15+ lb cat within 1 year. That's a lot of growing to do!

I do think it is to do with the tummy issue, his moggie sister Kitkat has now become the same way, she still doesn't consume quite as much but she's certainly on the scrounge for food more. Ive had the ok from vet to slowly introduce their Royal Canin Kitten biscuits so at least they can graze on that all day until I get results from the poop samples (looking at 5 days wait)
