Am thinking of changing magic to orijen dry instead of purina as I've heard it's a very good food, has anybody tried it, he will still have wet food also

I tried it but that was about the time my cats started itching, possibly from a food related sensitivity. Not that Orijen contributed to it, but when I brought them to the vet and showed her what I was feeding them, she said they had too many protein sources in their diet. They went on a single protein diet and things improved.

They both seemed to like Orijen, but I have not purchased it since. Check the ingredients.

I have yet to try Orijen (small packages not available anywhere in Europe yet), so I looked at second tier kibbles (in my personal list): found only Acana and Purizon. My cat is eating the latter and it seems good enough. As meat source there is only chicken and there is a little % of sardines. Yes, and some potatoes like in Acana and some other "good" european brands. No idea of a true mono-protein of this kind of quality.

BTW Orijen has 2 meats flavours: maybe he's not allergic to the other one.

I have ordered a small bag of the 6 fish orijen as magic loves anything fish flavour, we will see when it comes

I'd love to know why we can't purchase sample packets of dry food so that we can see if our kitty likes it without buying a 3 lb. bag of it! We can purchase small cans and packets of wet food individually! It would be so much easier.

They are pretty rich of minerals...means that ur cat needs to drink more water (and u can't tell him) and that u should increase his ratio of daily wet food.
Here in italy are expensive brand too....I'd rather granatapet dry food (100% grain free)

They Orijen does have a small bag but it was quite expensive for such a small bag that I went for the more economical large bag.

They are having a buy 1 get 1 free deal going on stating November 16 for about 2 weeks. I ordered a few cases in the flavors my cats love (venison, kangaroo and bushtail)

It is not distributed on line and not carried by national pet food chains. I have a local specialty pet store that carries it close to home so I get it there.

My bengal won't touch anything with seafood in it!

I've used Orijen exclusively for about a year now and it has worked out very well for Babbage who prior to that had problems with diarrhoea. I've used both the Chicken and the fish with good results.

It is not the cheapest of foods, but for me the knowledge that it is easy on Babbage's stomach is well worth it. The only downside I find is that the big sacks don't have a resealable top - silly as even Ada can't eat a 6.8Kg bag of food in one sitting. The smaller bags are resealable.

It is available from Zooplus in UK/NL/DE.

I will check this brand out next time I order from Chewy.com. I didn't realize any of the dry foods had resealable packaging. I use clips on them after I put some into a smaller container.

The smaller packs of Orijen are re-sealable as are most other big bags that I've come across in the UK - its handy for keeping the air out and the food fresh. I have some clips that I use, but they aren't as effective as a proper air-tight seal IME.
