I told the vet how many times she has already thrown up clear stuff and she felt around on her tummy. She said she thinks its from Lilith's stomache creating too much acid. Since that injection she hasn't thrown up anything...thankfully! So I suppose it might really be from too much acid...hope I am using the correct English word for it. She told us if it doesn't get better to come back and then we would have to see if it has something to do with her diet. I don't think so though,because wouldn't she have diarrhea if it would be from the food?

Hopefully, Lilith's tummy has settled back down. If it happens again, I'd feed her a little less but more frequent meals.

I am glad she has not vomited since she has been to the vet. I am going to give them a call today because I would like to know -since that injection worked- if she will need one again if she starts vomiting. I think it must be the stomach acid because the injection really helped her by now.

Genevieve, you may need to find her some food for sensitive tummies! If it is indeed stomach acid, then it may help. As long as she's not vomiting right now -- and I don't know what the injection contained that might help her. I don't know that I would continue giving her a shot if she vomits when the vet honestly doesn't know what's causing it. Your vet is only speculating and that may not be the reason.

My last cat was a senior with kidney failure for several years before she died. Nausea is a symptom and she threw up very often. There are two different medications the vet recommended. One addressed the stomach acid and the other addressed nausea in the brain. The vet could give her a shot of each which lasted for about a week or I could give her the pill form of the medication myself which was about half the price. I believe the stomach acid pill was just over the counter Pepsid, but check with your vet and find out the dosage. The one that worked on nausea in the brain was great, a real life saver as her illness progressed.

I am so sorry, Jill. I had a senior cat in kidney failure as well and I don't recall there was much vomiting. This was way back in the late 90's.

Gave my kitty sub-q fluids twice a day, plus 2 insulin shots for her diabetes. We had 14 years with her after we adopted her. She was 17 years old and I still miss her. She was a great little brown tabby!

Aw I am so sorry to read about the cats..and I hope Lilith has nothing bad going on. I found a gush of bile yesterday on the floor...got me worried but I found cat grass in it. So I guess it was from the grass. To top things I heard one of them making the throwing up noise and to my surprise it was Phaedra! She threw up and it also had grass in it.
I am confused...

Cats ingest grass to help with digestion. I've had Raiden eat the grass and immediately throw it back up. When Raiden first arrived at my door, he vomited a lot, but it was because his owner fed him only dry food and I was giving him canned food. At the time, I didn't know he even had a home. Now, it's extremely rare for him to vomit.
