Does anyone know of, or can recommend any good quality, grain free wet foods for purchase in Australia?

I brought my new bengal kitten home 5 days ago, and his breeder told me she had been feeding him raw chicken necks.

I have tried feeding these to him, but he just doesn't seem interested in them at all. I don't know what is wrong.

In the meantime I have been feeding him cooked chicken breast mixed with raw chicken livers and his dry food. He has also gotten some raw chopped beef.

I am looking for a good wet food I can mix in with his raw/cooked meats.

My moggie is eating Fancy Feast as that is what she was being fed when I adopted her not long ago.

I have't heard many good things about Fancy Feast on here and am looking to swap to another brand of wet food if there are any good options out there, for both cats.

Does anyone know of any? I have seen "Holistic Select" cat food, which claims to be grain free, but I have also heard of a few people saying it's not great.

Fancy Feast is not a quality cat food and you don't want to get you cat hooked on junk food at a young age.

Everyone has their own opinion about the food they feed their kitties. When it comes to a feeding a raw diet, I wish people would mention that it's not just taking a raw chicken breast and cutting it up and giving it to the cat, especially a kitten who has its own nutritional requirements. Raw feeding is more of a recipe that may require a supplement to ensure the cat gets all the vitamins and minerals. Taurine is especially necessary for cats and it's found in the heart and liver of the chicken. And the kitty needs calcium from the chicken bones.

I have to feed Raiden what he will eat! To this day, I still try out new brands for him and I can't find anything good that he likes to eat. His previous owner fed him only cheap dry food. I feed him what he will eat and there aren't many brands that he will touch. I'd be happy to purchase the expensive, high-quality food if he would eat it.

I just did a quick search, and some good brands that I am familiar with seem to be available over there too:

Ziwi Peak: unusual flavors, my cats don't seem to care for them, but high quality stuff nonetheless. Definitely worth a try to see how your cat will like them.

Wellness: good brand, lots of meat, has had some problems with recalls in the past. my cats are luke-warm on this brand in terms of taste except for the food they sell in pouches, which they really love.

Earthborn Hollistic: terrific brand, shredded/diced meat in their cans, and packed extremely tight (very little water, so excellent value). My cats like these quite well. Their dry food is good too.

Fancy Feast is one of these really cheap, crappy, "grocery store brands". I'm not sure how they do it in AU but in the States you really have to go to the smaller pet specialty stores to find the best brands.

I tried feeding chicken necks too. Blondie looked at me like I was trying to poison her. Grace would drag it under the dining room table and crack the bones with her teeth and chomp away like a crazed animal. I saw her swallow a big chunk and became concerned she might choke so I started chopping it into 4 pieces. I had to stop with the chicken when the vet put them on a venison only pet food suspecting allergies from chicken.
