Hi Brian. No they are due for flea medicine drops now. I usually dose them when I bring them home from getting their nails trimmed since they are in a carrier it is easier to administer the dreaded flea medicine that they don't like. So here's my dilemma. They haven't had the Revolution for a month and Grace is itching more, not less so possibly it isn't the Revolution. Do I give them the Revolution because it's due, or do I try a different oral flea medication that the vet told me about? I have one month of the Revolution left. I really need to get those nails cut because Grace is going to rip her chin open with her long nails. She is constantly scratching her chin and neck. For some reason Blondie is not quite as bad.

Poor kid. It may be seasonal allergies I would ask the vet about dosage for children's Benadryl and try that for a few days before doing any flea meds.

My neighbor's cat has the same thing going on and she gives him half of some sort of antihistamine and his chin bumps go away.

So strange for a cat to have that chin itching! You'd think it would be from something the chin touches -- food or water bowl, etc. Maybe it's the extreme heat of the summer?

One thing that just occurred to me... do you think it could be the cat loungers? Did getting those coincide with their having these problems?

Perhaps it's a toy? I guess you'll just have to be MORE observant than you already are, Jill! I know we all love to watch our kitties 24/7.

I constantly try to figure it out. I know I have allergies that at times get out of hand with watery eyes and sinus congestion and I spend little time outside in the summer it is so hot and humid. A year ago I stopped Terminex pest control and handle everything naturally now. I am also becoming an expert at natural weed control so I don't think it is anything chemical that is causing the itching. I let them outside less often mainly because of the heat in the summer. The few times I have had to keep them inside have not been good. They think they are being punished and start jumping and sliding down the walls in protest.

A parasite, I hadn't thought about that. They just had a fecal exam that came out clean, although they tested Blondie since they share a litter box. Poor Blondie, sometimes it doesn't pay to be the sweet gentle one. I can ask the vet about that.

I can give reviews on FOUR fountains that I think will be helpful. We started off with the Pioneer Raindrop fountain with a plastic base and stainless steel top. My two cats loved it...they drank a lot of water and the fountain was relatively quiet. I was concerned about the plastic bottom, but I had stocked up on filters, so I wanted to use them all up before I switched to a ceramic fountain. I then bought a Drinkwell Avalon fountain. Pretty design, but not enough drinking room on the bottom reservoir. Cats don't like their whiskers touching the sides of things and I found they weren't drinking nearly enough, if anything at all. My bengal drank from the top part....I never saw my Bombay drink. I was upset so I got the stainless steel Pioneer Pet Raindrop fountain. Very flimsy stainless steel..very light...a smart cat could knock top off and disrupt it. I returned it. Plus....my cats were frightened by seeing their reflections in the stainless steel and I never saw them drink in the few days I had this fountain. I then bought the Pioneer Pet Big Max ceramic fountain. Lots of space in the lower reservoir so their whiskers didn't touch the sides. However.....the pump is much too small for this size water capacity (128 oz.) There is not enough power to properly circulate the water and, as a result, lots of debris remained on the bottom. I returned it. FINALLY....I found the PERFECT fountain. The Pioneer Pet Ceramic Raindrop fountain...has plenty of room to drink, is quiet, has adequate circulation. It's a keeper!!!!

I have the Pioneer Raindrop Fountain and it is entirely stainless steel!
