Can anyone help?

I will try and be as informative as possible so sorry for a long post!

She is between 10 and 12 weeks old.

When she arrived, she was 8 weeks according to the breeder but I thought she was nearer 6 and my vet agreed she looked about 6 also.
Despite appearing lively and eating and drinking fine, she had fleas and ear mites and was a little thin.
She sneezed a fair few times throughout the day and sometimes black, snotty stuff could be seen around her nose.

I started adding 'CSJ billy no mates' herbal flea powder to her food and she is now flea free.
I have wormed her also but until I have a worm count done I do not know if it has been successful.
As she had quite a lot of black stuff in her ears and was scratching a lot I used a medicated product - otodex for 4 days.
She isn't sneezing anymore but does sometimes still get a tiny amount of black crusty stuff near her nostril.

After just two or three days of being here she bit off and swallowed a latex teat.
She had a little diarrhoea followed by normal stool, the vets however were unconcerned.
Next she started vomiting.
Once a day hours after eating she would be sick, ALWAYS after having eaten either chicken wing or day old chick, worried that she might be allergic to chicken I stopped feeding it and the vomiting stopped.

For food, I wanted to feed her raw, I WAS giving her -

An egg yolk in the morning with her flea herbs
A full kitten bowl of chunked meat eg beef, lamb, pork, venison etc with half a 0.5ml scoop of powdered eggshell sometimes a bit of liver also or some lamb kidney
A mouse

Then I got scared about taurine and calcium and things so I started giving her -

Meowing heads or Lily's kitchen wet cat food (both brands contain chicken) with her flea supplement and a 500mg capsule of evening primrose oil
1 or 2 mice or 1 or 2 sprat fish
Some chunked meat (no eggshell) sometimes including organs like heart, kidney or liver.

As the sickness stopped despite eating food with chicken in, I gave her a chicken drumstick yesterday.
Today, she has only eaten a little and was licking her lips a bit earlier so I am worried she is going to be sick later :(

About a week after having her, I noticed she was losing hair on one of her ears and above one of her eyes, the skin was completely smooth, no crustiness.
Then the hair grew back.
Gradually, I have noticed that the hair inbetween her shoulders/back of her neck and on her elbows is getting thinner.
You can't notice any thinning usually, but when she is crouched down eating it is very obvious!
Her ears are getting patchy also and when I looked today, they look smooth, but feel a little rough/thickened.

I am unsure what to do?

Is it a nutritional problem?
What should I be feeding her?

Is it ringworm? A hormonal problem?

Please help me.

Hi, it could be a number of things.

Yeast infection could be something, but I would question regarding the treatment the vet has prescribed for the mites & Fleas - I would think you need to treat with a combined product like Stronghold/Advocate - this will cover most worms (tape worm I would treat with panacur) and it might be an idea to use a drop in the ear such as Canural. Those things combined will sort any ear, worm and flea problems.

Food wise although raw is fine you need to make sure at her age she is getting everything she needs. Tbh I would feed her a complete kitten food (dry & wet) and add a meal of raw meat per day as a supplement for now.

For her runny tum you may well need to have her tested for parasites - the likes of Giardia & TF - I would ask for a full poop panel and collect the sample before she has been treated with any other products so you get an accurate result.

You could also mix in RC gastro biscuits to settle her stomach also.

I will add re the vomiting - you need to lay off the raw in this instant....it contains lots of bacteria that a normal healthy cat can take, however a kitten who is young and a possible compromised immune its not so good. She needs to be in full health first then you can integrate it to her diet once more.

Hello Claire, I wasn't aware my post had been approved which is why it took me a long time to reply.

There have been some developments since my post.

Firstly, the vet hadnt prescribed any medication.

The ear drops I bought at the pet shop and the herbal flea powder I buy from the ethical dog company.
I use it on my dog and she has never had fleas or ticks, the cat also, is now flea free.
I find it very effective.

She only had one episode of diarrhoea, this was her first bowel movement after swallowing a latex teat.
All poos before and since have been normal.

When I posted, I was worried that she may be sick as she was licking her lips.
The night before she had a chicken drumstick, the next morning, she ate a little Lilys kitchen cat food.
After eating it she became extremely lethargic and refused all food and water for over 24 hours.
I had to take her to the vets for antibiotics, anti emetics and antacids.
I made no connection until later, when the cat was feeling better, and asking for food, I offered her Lilys kitchen again and she refused.
I fed the tray to the dog who immediately downed a whole bowl of water afterwards when usually she drinks hardly anything then ran outside to the garden where she vomited three times and continued to heave and cough for a few minutes afterwards.

Now, the cat and dog are both fine.
I shall not be feeding conventional food anymore.

I am putting an order in at kiezebrink for whole prey which I will be giving the cat instead as I understand whole prey is completely balanced.
I have also stopped the evening primrose oil and looking into fish oil instead.
