Hi there, I just wanted some advice on quantities of food. I have just got a new bengal boy who is about 6 months old. He weighs 4.5 kg. As recommended by the breeder I feed him half a cup of dry food in the morning (hills science diet adult cat food) and a raw meat meal at night which is made up by the breeder, interspersed with 1 chicken wing or2 chicken neck once or twice a week.

With the raw food she said 2 tablespoons, I portioned up the meat and have realised its actually more like 3 tablespoons, weighed it, its about 100 grams. He doesnt finish it all in one sitting.

He hasnt begged for food or anything and seems satisfied. he takes longer to eat the raw meals. his poo has been fine, one a day and firm so far. I dont want to overfeed or underfeed! In reading cats that age need a bit more calories than adults? Can anyone confirm the amounts are right?

Babies can stand to eat a little extra til they are about 1 year old. I think you're doing just fine :D

It sounds like you're doing things right! My Raiden will eat throughout the day. My previous cat would inhale the entire can of food at one sitting. All cats are different. Bengals are quite muscular and you can tell when they are getting a little pudgy. I don't think you have to worry about that while your baby is till a kitten!
