Trying to figure out which kibble to feed my Kitten:
She was eating Kitten Chow and Meow Mix at the breeders...

I have a Bag of Royal Canin Kitten Spay/Neuter and a bag of Merrick Puurfect Bistro Kitten.
Does anybody feed either of these and have reviews... good or bad... or suggestions?
I got cans of Merrick, Weruva and Nature's Variety.
I have been feeding her mostly canned and have kibble out during the day.
Just trying to figure out which Kibble is best to keep out...

My kittens were on Royal Cannin but it gave them really soft BM. I tried EVO dry and Wellness Core grain free wet and the problem went away. I ran out of the EVO dry and I introduced Natural Balance Dry Cat Food, Limited Ingredient Diet Green Pea and Duck Formula. They liked it until I bought the econo size and then they HATED IT. So I just got a big bag of EVO and I am mixing it half and half. I also got a case of EVO wet food and I am mixing that half and half with their other wet food that is grain free. They are some very happy cats let me tell you. This stuff is pricy, but they are only 7 months old and I want them to get a good start and used to different healthy foods. My last cat would only eat one flavor of Fancy Feast the whole time I had her. She was thin as a rail and would starve before she would eat some thing healthy.

Thank You Both!!
I have already learned so much in the 5-weeks I have had her. I definitely want to try and provide the Best for her.

Looking forward to learning more on here

Re: Evo, if it's working great for your cats, then super. But I should at least throw out this caution: Evo used to be a really excellent smaller brand pet food, that used to be sold only at the smaller, independent pet food stores (like most of the best brands are). It used to be my go-to dry brand for my cats for about a year. Then the company that makes Evo got acquired by Proctor and Gamble. Shortly thereafter, predictably, they went to heck and soon had a bunch of recalls. At this point most of the local pet food stores around where I live, wisely dropped Evo from their stores, but I knew how much my cats liked it, so after the recalls ended and they starting shipping new product, I got a bag of it. Within days all three of my cats were very ill. I had to take them to the vet, and get them hydrated, and get jabs and all that. So that was my last Evo bag that I've bought. Now just recently, Evo was acquired again, this time by Mars (yes, the candy-maker). One wonders how long it will be, before we start seeing the first "pet candy" or "pet chocolates".

Anyhow... just some background for the uninitiated. I wouldn't touch them with a 10' pole.

Thanks for the info. I don't think I will get the EVO wet food again, but boy my cats love the dry food. My cat seem to handle the grain free food the best. Is there a safer brand you know of that cats also like?

Thanks Brian. I put a bag in my Amazon wish list so I remember which one it is when it is time to replenish their supply.

I have an appointment to take one of my cats to the vet because of red itchy eyes. I thought her sister might have scratched her during play, or an insect could have bitten her on the patio, but now I am wondering if it could be food related. This started about a week ago when the EVO arrived. Maybe she has a food allergy to that brand? She was very sensitive to the Royal Cannin, it gave her diarrhea. She like both food options but now I am wondering. Hopefully the vet can figure it out.

Oh man, I have just bought another 2KG bag of Royal Canin Kitten - Digestive Health dry food, and my kitten has had loose stools from the day I got her so I wonder if it's from the corn...

It's what the breeder fed her tho, so I wanted to keep her on it. She was also on a mixture of raw chicken, frozen 'complete raw food' and tinned wet food. I have introduced James Wellbeloved Kitten Turkey and eliminated the wet/raw food over the last month and her stools have started to firm up, but I wonder if I should also ditch the Royal Canin now too...
