My Bengal Kitten won't eat his Blue Wilderness kitten food anymore. He will smell it and then just walk away. He will eat our other kittens food which is Purina Pro Plan kitten food but its not grain free and I'm not sure if thats good for him to eat. Im not sure what to do to get him to eat his own food. Any tricks on getting him to eat his grain free food? Ive also tried mixing in some Wellness kitten food into the Blue Wilderness and that won't work either he still smells it and then just walks away.

So it sounds like the smell is turning him off. If he is slightly ill and has a stuffy nose, that can cause that. You can try heating the food in the microwave for 10s or so just to bring the smell out a bit and see if that helps. But if it's a case of him just not liking the smell, I think all you can really do is feed him something else. Why are the two kittens eating different things anyway?

The grain-free-ness of food is not something I obsess over anymore. There was a recent article about this in one of the journals I subscribe to. No matter what kind of "filler" they put in there: fruits or vegetables or grains, none of it is good for cats, so those brands that make a big deal over that are probably a bit off-base. But what I do look for his meat protein, and an avoidance of by-products and meat-meals.

Anyway...your bengal kitten is a lot better off eating so-so food than no food, but I do applaud your attempt to feed him something better. You might want to try some of these foods that aren't pate-like. Try something like Weruva, Earthborn Hollistic, Against The Grain, or something of that ilk. If you are partial to Wellness, the Wellness pouches are loved by my cats, and they also just came out with a new kind of Wellness food that is some sort of mixture between more stew-like and pate which might go over better. Thank you for your reply it really helped :) We feed the kittens two different foods because my sisters kitten, which is not a bengal, had constipation problems with the Blue Wilderness so she took her kitten off of it. I went out today and bought a different grain free cat food from Petsmart which he seems to like it so far. He was sick last week and just barley got over it so I'm not sure if that had anything do with him not liking the Blue Wilderness anymore. He's a lot better now :)

I've spent so much time stressing over food too and buying top quality brands etc but they do not agree with Dexter's tum! I think they are far too rich for him. His poo stinks the house out!

We are now back on the kitten Whiskers unfortunately which is what he started on when we got him from the breeder. His tum has settled right down now.

He has treats of fish, chicken etc from when we do roasts but I am not touching these 'quality' foods anymore.

I would just feed him what he enjoys eating and what doesn't upset his tum.
