Not completely new here but forgot my username!
I have a 18mth old male neutered Bengal who is allowed free access to the garden and fields during the day but in at night. He is generally healthy, bright, good weight, healthy teeyh, skin, coat etc and has had a vet check in the last couple of weeks.
Hes always been a fussy eater but a prolific hunter. We currently, after trialling a lot of different foods, feed him Applaws chiken or tuna pouches, supplemented with Purina One ad lib biscuits. He loved the meat at first but has gradually got more fussy with it, preferring instead to catch his own dinner. Its not unusual for him to eat 2 or 3 voles in quick succession, and he completely eats the lot!

Is this a problem? If it is, should we try to stop this in some way? If so, how?

I honestly don't see this as a problem, after all, he is doing what is natural to him....this is the original 'raw' diet that cats lived on long before 'dry', 'wet'and 'raw' diets became subjects of much discussion. Maybe you could start feeding him a better quality wet food or look at raw, for when he's indoors. Sleep, hunt, eat.... doesn't get much better than that.

Aside from the risk of internal parasites or other toxins it's the perfect meal. I raised mice for snakes and Pouncey would go weeks on a mouse only diet. I am however against the impact cats have on wildlife and suggest finding a source for mice or rabbit possibly through a reptile supply company. Remember pre killed will lack amino acids so you'd need Kitty Bloom or Alnutrian
