Did you happen to ask the breeder about a a recipe? I mean, if the breeder already has his cats on a diet then it couldn't hurt to ask.

The breeder I am looking to purchase from sometime this year has his own recipe that I plan on using...

(Freeze for minimum of 3 days to kill any possible parasites)

2/3 of the total mix should be chicken, bones and all (uncooked)

Of the 2/3 chicken, 1/3 of that should be organ meats such as chicken livers and chicken gizzards, hearts

1/3 of the mix should be beef, we use beef stew meat from Wal-Mart (actual amts/weight of each is up to you depending on how much you want to make, we use 10 whole chickens, and about 6lbs of the stew meat and that makes about 8-10 gallons of mix and feeds all our cats for about 3 months)

Grind all ingredients then add the following...

1 can of 100% pure pumpkin

Kitty Bloom – we add about ¼ tsp per serving

We figure we can get about 6-8 servings out of each bag of raw we make so depending on how much you make add that
much to total mix, or in each bag and mix up in there, or you can add to food daily

You also want to occasionally give them some cubes or strips of beef, or something like raw chicken wings, whole chicken hearts. This gives their teeth exercise and you won't have problems with gingivitis or tooth decay. This should be done a couple times a week. You can separate the pieces of chicken wing, then chop them in half - this keeps the cat from dragging it around off the plate while gnawing.

I want to feed 100% raw (no kibble grazing), so from what I understand... kittens should be fed up to 3 - 4 times daily and adults fed twice daily. Kittens should be allowed to eat as much as they want and adults should be given roughly 2% - 3% of the ideal body weight per day.

The breeder's recipe only included chicken thighs, prebiotics, pumpkin, and salmon oil. I was concerned about this because it doesn't include any organ meat or any other type of meat.

I have ordered some chicken liver and chicken hearts, as many raw recipes include them. If he likes them, I will probably just chop them up into reasonably sized pieces and let him eat them like that instead of grinding. He likes to have variety on his plate.

Right now, he is eating chopped chicken and turkey breast, and small amounts of various blue buffalo canned foods. He also gets a bit of ground chicken. As of right now, he is not getting any bone, but I am headed to the store tomorrow for some wings or thighs for him to gnaw on.

Is it okay for cats to eat beef? What about pork?

I was thinking about getting some prey mice and some rabbit meat, just to add variety. I want to expose him to as many things as possible now because he is young and accepting of new foods. He doesn't consider anything dry to be food. He won't even touch it. He doesn't eat dry food at all, not even treats. He just plays with it or attempts to bury it.

Thank you for the recipe, I will try that with just hand-chopping it all in advance. I don't mind spending the extra time and he seems to prefer it to ground meats.

There's nothing wrong with feeding just about any kind of meat their willing to actually eat... but the key is always making sure they have a well "balanced diet" and not being shorted in one area or another that could lead to health issues. Personally I like the idea of grinding at least when it comes to making sure they get the bone, as your probably not going to get enough bone with just feeding wings and then using a proper supplement.

Yea, I don't think he would be getting everything that he needs just from thighs, which is why I am asking advice for expanding his diet.

Does anyone know where I can find the specific dietary requirements for a bengal cat? How do I make sure that what I am feeding him is actually "balanced and complete". The reason I am feeding him raw is because I want him to be as healthy as possible, so I'd like to do it correctly so that I do more good than harm.
