Hi all, I'm wondering if Bozita have changed their recipes as since I had a new delivery, none of my three cats are wolfing their food down like they used to . In fact, the last few days I've had to throw food away as they're not eating it.

Can anyone suggest a good alternative? Mickey suffered from an upset tummy with most foods I've tried in the past and Bozita prawn or salmon seemed to be the only ones that suited him so I'm not sure what to do now if he's gone off them. I did feed raw from Darlings for a while but if we go away it's handy to be able to leave tins for the cat sitter and also easier from a storage point of view (not to mention cheaper...).

First of all, have they gone off food completely or are they just not that keen on this particular type anymore? I would be slightly wary if my cats had gone off their food and would be keeping an eye out for any other symptoms such as lethargy / respiratory issues etc that could mean a vet check up is in order.

Otherwise though, they could well just be being fussy little things, especially given that all three at once didn't like it and it coincides with getting a new batch. That is by far the more likely scenario but just wanted to mention the vet just in case!

So in regards to food, can i ask which are defintiely on your "no go" list as that could help with people giving suggestions. Have you tried James Wellbeloved before or Thrive? Those are generally considered to be of the same calibre as Bozita i believe.

I'm sure more people will be along with other food suggestions soon. It might also be worth scanning through the posts in this area as there are lots of discussions in regard to various brands of food, especially of the high protein, grain free variety!

Hi, I had the same thing with Bozita - my cats would two mouthfuls and look at me pitifully like I was feeding them gruel!

I changed to Animonda Carny which i get from Zooplus. I find its good value for money like the Bozita and actually smells a damn sight better than it too!
I buy them the 200gram tins and share it between them for each meal topped up with 100grams of Natures Menu pouches after the evening.

Thanks both. They've been eating Bozita for a couple of years quite happily so I'm wondering if it's a bad batch. Frustrating if it is as I've got a cupboard full of it! They all three had their annual check ups and boosters yesterday and I mentioned it to the vet but their weight and temperatures were fine .

I gave them some Applaws this evening and they wolfed it down so it's obviously the Bozita that's a problem. I've ordered some raw from natures menu so will try them on that when it arrives.

Piggy - I prefer to feed a high meat content wet food so James Wellbeloved is out. I don't know Thrive so will check that out.

Becky - thanks for the Carny recommendation - sounds good, I'll have a look at that.

Just to let you know Thrive is 100% meat, no grains or cereals whatsoever since you are looking for high meat content food.

Thanks Piggle (apologies my deteriorating eyesight read it as Piggie previously). I found Thrive on zooplus and it looks good.

While on there I checked the ingredients on Bozita and while I can't be certain, I think they have changed. I'm pretty sure the didn't have pork in previously as I seem to remember trying to avoid anything with pork when I was initially looking for a good food for them. It would certainly explain why they've gone off it.

Now just need to find a home for the 30-odd tins I have left...think a trip to CPL might be in order!
