Ugh, there are so many "breeders" that are only focusing on sucking the money out of you.

The breeders should first of all be focused on the cats health, and ask a bit questions about you so they'll know you're able to give the kitten a good home. My kitten was 13 weeks when I picked him up. Cost me 8000 Norwegian kr, or 1300 US. Including vacination, pedigree, and wormed. And a kitten pack : p Aidan was also fully socialised and litter trained.

That's the least you should ecpect from an experienced breeder.

Don't accept a kitten from someone who's constantly nagging about the money. The right breeders focus on healthy kittens and their well being for the rest of their life.

My breeder sent me long e-mails with pictures. She was really friendly and asked me questions, and answered mine. She also sent me pictures and the pedigree of his parents.

It's very important to like the breeder. It's not just about getting a beautiful bengal kitten. The most important thing is to find a good breeder who care about the bengal babies well being : )

Don't rush it, and wait until it clicks and feels right.

Luckily for me there's mostly just serious breeders here in Norway : ) I hit the jackpot with the first breeder i contacted.

And do NOT accept a kitten without vacines or a pedigree.

Be carefull. There are many people out there who's able to trick the money out of you. I would have visited the kitten at first if I were you and asked for references

Again, it is not the price that makes the kitten good or bad quality. Sometimes breeders sell good quality kittens for less, it could be due to personal reasons as she says. The thing that is raising alarm bells is the fact that the kittens are not vaccinated at 12 weeks. If I were you I would really question why she has not done that as yet. remeber it takes 3-4 weeks for a full course to be done. Furthermore, if she has not vaccinated them, it means they ahev not been checked by a vet, and therefore she can not be telling you they are healthy with confidence.

You ahve to make sure the parents of the kittens are GCCF/TICA registered on the active register, and if in doubt, ask to see the regsitration papers of both parents. Check that it does not say "no progeny to be registered" on the slip, as that means they were not supposed to be bred.

As nutty says....Research is the key!

Also ask to the breeder to send you a pedigree of the kitten, with the registration numbers of the parents on it.

If it's the same advert I've been considering the breeder is listed on the bengal kitten list if you look under Essex. I'm assuming I can't post the Prefix of the breeder. I'm also in contact with her regarding the vaccinations so we'll see what she says.

I don't know a thing about breeders (London or elsewhere--LOL) but I think you could get a good idea of the kitten's personality by at least seeing the Mom. I saw both my kitten's parents and they were both underfoot while I was looking at the litter and also I could pick them up and hold them. Lilly, my kitten, is outgoing, friendly, curious and is all I could want in a Bengal!

We have two kittens now 5 months. One lives with my son and his girlfriend, one with us. They were collected from a reputable dealer at 13 weeks, fully vaccinated, litter trained and well socialised. My son has a girl and we have a boy. Both are equally friendly and fun loving but with distinct personalities. All kittens are different! We researched and visited many breeders looking at both parents and the kittens before deciding on the babies we now have and I would strongly recommend doing the same. Our kittens are a complete delight and will hopefully live a long and happy life with us (16-20 years is not unusual for an indoor cat). Don't rush into a choice and be prepared to pay between £300 and £500 for a kitten of good pedigree. I am about to get a snow myself and can let you know the name of the breeder if you would like. Don't be put off if the breeder is not in London. The more effort you put in now, the happier you will be with your choice!!!

I've found a breeder that seems to be suitable and genuine and have been sent pictures of the kitten I would be taking home.



The kitten is meant to be 12 weeks of age now and I've been told I can take her home in 2 weeks (when she is 14 weeks old). As you may have guessed by now, my experience and knowledge of bengals isn't huge, but I thought the kitten looks older than 12 weeks in that picture.

Can somebody please give me their opinion and the picture and also on any thing else I've mentioned in regards to the kitten/breeder?

I'd also be grateful if somebody would PM me and I could give them the link to the breeder's website and they could advise me on what they think?

Aww she's a cutie! our kitten also looked very grown up in his later pictures but you will probably be surprised at how tiny she is.
