Hey all,

I'm looking into purchasing an f2 in the UK and was wondering if anyone had any personal recommendations? I'm aware of breeders who sell EG's but I was just wondering if anyone had a personal experience with them. I'm located in the South-West, but willing travel

Thanks :)

You may want to check with Purebliss Bengals in the UK. They sometimes have earlier generations available and are licensed to do so. All you can do is contact individual breeders and ask. Is there a particular reason you are looking for an F2? Some areas require a license to own an earlier generation bengal.

Well in my county, F2 doesn't require a licence. No particular reason - I would just like to own as - the same reason I have all my cats!

And yes, I am fully aware of the nature of an early gen!

Then why not an F1? I know that a record amount of money was paid for an F2 named Sarez Allspots. Unfortunately Sarez/Gayzette left the breeding business several years ago. I hope you are able to find the bengal that you want.

F1 would require a licence, F2 does not - in my county anyway!

Now I see your reasoning for wanting an F2. Have you contacted Purebliss? I don't know a lot of the catteries in the UK. Glitterglam probably doesn't have any early generations.

I know that Goldnglitz, where I bought my 2 SBTs, added 2 ALCs to their breeding programme a while back now. I have no idea if she has any earlier generations available, but I couldnt recommend Jayne highly enough, the lady that runs it, very professional and really helpful

Then there are a lot of breeders to choose from. Not sure how often they breed for them. I'm doing my F-generation database and have been seeing some high numbers up there. Have no idea what the generations are up to, but then I go down the pedigree to find the F9's, there are five to six generations above it yet.

Off topic slightly but was Serez owned by Esmond Gay with Zeus? Does he even still breed bengals? I remember when they breed Zeus it was all over the papers over here with how much he was worth which upset quite a few people with bengals as the lay person don't know what an F1 is and theft then became a major worry.

I just wish it hadn't all been about money with Zeus because he was such a stunning cat.

Here is a very interesting story written by Esmond on their breeding program and retirement in 2008. He mentions Zeus in there and there is a gorgeous photograph.

Hi
My f4 is from Billandbengals she is fab they are super socialised cats, she is the friendliest little thing. She has a current litter of f4 and is due a litter of f3 - don't think she breeds f2 as I don't think she has the licence to own an f1. But if you can go for an f3 instead she really really socialises them well.
