I have brought a bengal kitten 2months ago and at that time breeder promised he will register the kitten woth TICA

I have contacted him several times and everytone he would tell me that TICA takes time to process the registrations ect (im not really familiar with the procedure)

Now i have texted him and asked if there are any news regarding this.
He responded. I am copy pastong full conversation:

Hi, unfortunately I closed my breeding account as I've stop breeding and when I tried to register the kittens the system did not let me. So I am not able to register the kittens. My apologies for this. Marcel

Well this was not what i was promised when i bought the kitten thought...

Breeder:
Yes but circumstances have changed and I can't register kittens now that I am no longer a registered breeder.

Me:

Well in this case i would like to get a partial refund. As i was buying kitten With tica documents


Breeder:

The cat will not be a different cat with or without this form. The cat was sold very cheap and if you are not happy with her then I'll be very glad to give you a full refund when you return the cat back to me.









I dont want to give my baby back for any many in the world


But what can i do? Please advise

Unfortunately there is not a great deal you can do i dont think it sounds like a case of a back yard breeder. What age did you collect your cat, did you see parents registration papers, did you sign a contract?

You don't 'close' your breeder account, I know this as I was a TICA registered breeder.

You apply for your prefix which you pay for - it is then yours forever. When you register the kittens it goes under your prefix aslong as both parents are on the active register.

To call his bluff contact him and say, in that case please can you send me a copy of both parents TICA registration slip.

The registration slip will contain the offical SBT number of each parent, every cat that is registered with TICA has one and will confirm to you that you cat is indeed a purebred bengal (even if not registered as such) If a cat is registered with TICA and not meant to be used for breeding the registration slip will state not for breeding.

If you really did buy the kitten for very cheap, and the breeder has offered you a full refund and you declined, then you have no leg to stand on imo. Just be happy with your cat. If the piece of paper is really important to you, you'll know what differently to do next time.

I have contacted citizen advice office and i was told i am granted partial refund in my case
I have seen both parents of my kitten, she was 13weeks old when i took her home and i did not sign anything (got too excited i suppose at that time...)

I dont really want to report the breeder and take it to the court


Ps i paid less because we agreed that i will get kitten microchiped myself and this was his last breed of kittens since he split with hos wife and she was taking care of cats (as per their website there were her name on it) so i believed. He was also rehoming both parents and other cats

Does the prefix of your breeder have the initials R B ? and based in London.....If so I've had a nose and they look legit to me - I don't know if that helps you any.

The breeder said he will email me that but its been three days now i havent received anything

I really don't know how all of this is done! Two years ago, I took in a neighbor's bengal. He gave me the blank blue TICA registration paper that only had the breeder's name on it -- Belladonna. I inquired with TICA if I could still register the cat as he was 6 years old. They responded quickly that I could. I filled out the papers and sent them in. The litter had been registered and that information was on the form. It took two weeks for me to get the registration back and a 5-generation pedigree. The previous owner was handed the registration paper when he picked up the cat at 12 weeks. I figured this was how it was done since YOU get the pick out the pedigree name your kitty.

I hope you get this straightened out. If you're paying for a pedigree kitten, then you should have the papers for it. A reputable breeder would have no problem with this. Since you're having problems .... sounds like a backyard breeder to me.

The difference here from Sherry's Raiden is that it is looking like the kittens perhaps weren't registered even just as a litter in the first place.

Yeah, I have emailed him few more times, but he just gets angry and calls me 'demanding' for asking for the tica papers or at least the copies of my kitten's parents papers.

Since he told me his ex wife was breeding the kittens, not him, I assume after they split (he told me that is the reason he is selling ALL his cats and kittens), he didn't bother to register the litter at the first place. That is why (I am guessing) he can not provide me my kitten's tica documents. But the fact that he does not want to send at least the copies of the parents' papers sounds like laziness or something. I don't know. Now I gave up on this. I love my girl, with, or without document. Just a shame that I've got not what I paid for. So for the people who are looking for a kitten, this might be a good mistake they could learn from.
