Hey all. I am thinking about getting this little guy and have some questions about him. Is it normal for him to be so fuzzy and have his spots so washed out? I'm going to visit him this weekend and want your opinions. This is my first Bengal and even though I've read what to look out for and the warnings, I still need help.

There are some really really useful threads on here about getting kittens. Please spend some time reading through them - you'll realise there is so much that you need to know before you even consider bringing home a new kitten, let alone a Bengal. Please dont think that I'm putting you off, I'm really not, but I did what i thought was a lot of research but boy was I mistaken, I've learnt so much from this forum I wish I had found it before I brought my two kittens home.

For example - the fuzzies - each little bengal goes through this stage, the fuzzy bits slowly disappear to leave the beautiful soft and short pelt (its not really like normal cat fur). I think the fuzzies are adorable.

When you go to visit him, ask to see the parents AND their paperwork including testing certificates.

He is a cute little guy! I think the most important thing will be what breeder/lines he comes from. Both of his parents need to be scanned for HCM as well as PK-DEF. They also both need to be registered with full breeding rights for your kitten to be registered. Another thing about the fuzzies is it will not change the markings under the extra long hair that creates the fuzzy look. So the markings your kitten has now will be the markings it will have. His markings actually looks a lot like BB did when she was a kitten and she still isn't highly rosetted. He will have more of a spotted look. And PLEASE do not take this the wrong way or that I'm looking down on your new fur baby but I will say what I think others wouldn't say. I will scrutinize his papers and his mom and dad. Something about his coat just doesn't look bengal to me. It could be that his coat is ticked and that's not something I am used to seeing or it could be that he is cooler color. I'm not 100% sure exactly what it is but something is a little off IMO. Good luck with you baby and your research. If you have anymore questions PLEASE don't hesitate to post them here. Thank you for the replies. I am not taking anything in a bad light. I have read a lot about bengals, but I do not know everything. Also never having one of my own before, I came here for help and you guys have. I asked about papers and the breeder says both parents are registered and I am more than welcome to look at them. I plan on it, but not sure what I'm looking for specifically. Also I agree, something about the coat looks off to me as well, but I couldn't be sure if it was just the lighting or camera. I'll check him out tomorrow, but thank you all for the feedback.
