Both kittens are simply breathtaking! Since you live so close to the breeder, absolutely make that visit! Interact with the kitties and see which one's personality stands out to you! You should NEVER consider only coat color, markings, etc. That will not matter in the future -- what does matter is that you get a kitty that will be a great fit in your household! If you're feeling pressured, find another breeder. Breeders are business people ..... but they do treat prospective buyers differently. How much a kitten is socialized can depend on the breeder and how they house the mom and kittens. I know Raiden was part of the household and played with by the family members. Definitely go visit the breeder to see for yourself how the operation is run. It's for your own peace of mind .... and for choosing your perfect kitty.

When I got my Burmese years ago I had an idea in my head 'exactly' what I wanted which was a large blue Burmese.

When I turned up to look at the kittens one came trotting over to me. It wasn't the biggest and it wasn't blue and we fell in love with each other.

He was the best cat I ever had and sadly passed away last year on Boxing Day at the age of 15.

What it looks like is not the most important consideration :)

I was able to drive out and see the lil' guys! Upon seeing them up close I realized how insignificant something like markings would play in choosing a kitten. There was one who was just climbing all over the place and was very curious. He seemed very inquisitive and sociable and was quite friendly so this made my decision just a little easier. I will be making as many trips to see him between now and our eventual permanent reunion in a few weeks. I'm looking forward to sharing all my stories with the good folks here and thanks again for the input. (Fwiw, I went with the guy in the 2nd pic which wouldn't have been the case had I not gone to visit!) I have since christened the little guy, "Darwin."
