I was just speaking with a breeder and she was quite sure with my kids being as young as they are she wouldn't get anything older than 6 months! But having said that I think it would come down to the family the adult cat grew up with and as mentioned previously what they are like when you meet them. The Heathbrae cats are my ex breeders old cats, she sold up a year or so ago. It's good to see someone with her queens, as they were lovely cats.

It doesnt nessecarly mean if the cat isn't brought up with kids she will not like them! Jasper is fine with my kids now that he knows that they are not out to get him! I honestly went to the breeders to meet Jasper and he had some amazing kittens that I would have normally had a fit over but Jasper was my cat before I even knew it! I think along your journey you will see what feels right and what doesn't! Are you taking the children along with you to visit?

edit: I think 4-6 weeks locked up is unnesecary unless you hsve other cats that are not accepting the new addition! Jasper was in his safe room for two weeks full time and after that he stayed in there at night and when we were away, but that only lasted for a month or so or until i was comfortable that he wouldnt pee on everything or fight with our other cat.

I guess everyone has their own experiences with animals. She is probably just wanting to make sure her cat is going to a good home, which we are but maybe it might be too old. On the other hand the beautiful charcoal is way out of budget :( So thats a shame. I have however come accross a 9 month old today that could be promising. I have asked a couple of questions but need to give them a call to ask more. They are asking for a swap for a Chihuahua dog or $300, I certainly don't have a Chihuahua! Haha.

How much is the charcoal just out of interest?

She was asking $1800 for her desexed, not sure how much as a whole cat. I'm in Vic :)

My charcoal girl, who, granted, is not as gorgeous as that one, was nowhere near $1800!

An adult cat, especially a Bengal, needs play, love, and interaction...not much different than a kitten, in my opinion.

Yes I tend to agree with that fact too now reading and thinking about it more. I now have the option of another couple of cats, just a matter of waiting to see and a meet and greet :)

The lady I knew sold her retirees for $250.

I would say that price is with breeding rights! When I got my retired stud he was 2500 wiyh breeding rights and 500 as a pet. I would imagine the breeder will want her sold as a breeder being charcoals are rather hot right now!

WHAT? Thats crazy ridiculous! You can get a top of the line charcoal kitten for that and probably have money to spare someone is on a high horse
