I was wandering what to expect in regards to the temperament.

These are apparent Bengal crosses. The father is a pure Bengal the mother a Bengal-Persian cross. (Pics of them in the link)

What would that make their offspring?

I'm actually after a more placid "normal" cat personality do you think I'll be safe with these guys bearing in mind the amount of Bengal in them has been diluted twice.

I shall come right out and say it but please do not buy these kittens..... the breeder is what is considered a Back Yard Breeder. They breed in order to make money from the fact that people will pay more if the put 'bengal cross' in the title. If the bengal father is a pure bengal then the owner bought it as a pet without breeding rights. This may be because the cat was unsuitable to be bred from because of 'carried' health problems. Problems that will cause the cat in question no illhealth at all but, potentially, can cause a lot of problems in their offsprings. BYBers do not do any health screening or tests prior to breeding so tehre are completely unknown genetic problems that can be passed along to the kittens. Cardiomyopathy is a big issue in the Bengal breed so breeding from 'pet' cats and breeding unscreened is a minefield.

Add to that the 'Persian Cross' mother who looks nothing like a persian at all.... probably a moggie that happens to be longhair so the breeder is claiming they are part Persian.

These kittens look very cute indeed but the are very expensive moggie cats. The reason why pedigree cats cost so much is down to all the health screening that is done prior to pregnancy as well as vaccinations, microchipping and possible neutering. The cost of the parents is a factor as well as feeding kittens until they are 13 weeks of age.


A quick google of their mobile number shows taht they are breeding lots of different cross breeds, Russian blue, bengal, persian etc... they also have an advert for 6 week old cross persian kittens that need to go today.

Not a trustworthy person to deal with really.



If you want a laid back cat why don't you look at cats from a rescue centre or look into specific breeds with traits you would like. Bengals can be very hard work indeed and plenty of people with bengal crosses say the same.

yeah my first was the price they are trying to get from these cross bred kittens.
Looked like dodgy breeder from that alone.

You have heard what she has found about these people selling under age kittens and from random unregistered (not health checked) parents.... please dont support and reward (with cash) a possibly cruel and money motivated back yard business. You will be helping these people continue their questionable breeding for cash.

This add is in West Mids.... and so am I. I would be happy to suggest and recommend breeders in our area if you are looking for a pure bred bengal.

But you should prolly expect any breed of kitten to be far from laid back for its first year or two.
It sounds to me that a young adult rescue would suit you better... adult cat's personality's are easier to access to see if they suit you and they are passed the crazy kitten stage too.
