My friend emailed me a few pics of some gorgeous kittens yesterday. The two snows caught my eye. I have a middle aged (altered) Siamese girl who likes to play mama with kittens. Anyways, I emailed the lady who was horribly close to me distance wise. Unfortunately the parents are supposedly "unregistered rescues" that came to the lady pregnant. Kittens are $550 (usd) as pets. $900 otherwise but $900 upfront and a $350 refund upon proof of spay/neuter. I may have been coaxed into the deal had the kitten been altered before leaving. But selling unreg "rescue cat" kittens for $900 was a giant red flag.

Just something I think people should watch out for.

If you think my opinion is wrong for whatever reason, please feel free to point out where I went wrong. I feel as if I'm being overly critical and I'm open to suggestion. Any opinion welcome :)

If the "rescue" cats came to her pregnant that is one thing! BUT...........charging that much money for them is ridiculous! All this person is wanting is to make money! They should NEVER try to sale them as breeding cats regardless! I know the Mom and Dad cat have not been screened for health or temperament if they are unregistered breeders! That is not only insane but cruel IMO! You can find a kitten that comes from health screened lines and from a real breeder for that price! This is what is referred to as a back yard breeder! Don't walk away, RUN!

Great now that song is stuck in my head. But it's a good example of something that might seem legit but has so many red flags that it looks like you asked mapquest where a local starbucks is in Chicago.

Hope someone else can benefit from today's "oh look at this cute bengal kitten" experience.

I would contact the ASPCA to make sure the mum and dad (how does she know they really are???) get spayed / neutered now. And they may ensure she get the kittens done before selling them. That might make her think again....
