I am considering a second bengal to keep Ella company.

The cat in question is a male, snow rosetted bengal. He's 20 weeks old, so they would be similar in age.

He is a gorgeous kitten but my concern is that he seems very laid back. Like almost comatose. And Ella is not exactly a calm cat, she is a handful.

He seemed to get on fine with his owner's two other cats (she is having a baby and having problems looking after her cats as a result) and gave no signs of being ill, although he's a bit overweight.

Any thoughts? He's a lovely, lovely cat, but will he calm Ella down or be picked on mercilessly? His owner has said if there's problems she would take him back, as she wants the right home for her cat, but I don't particularly want to upset him with too many changes.

I rescued a calm Bengal who was just a doll. It was a joy having ONE cat that can be easily pinned down for education/moving/grooming etc. The other cat was over-aggressive at first, but after 2 weeks he learned to respect her space. That said i'll make sure that my next cat is calm. You want a companion, not a liability or a threat. I think you should go for it.

PS: Read up on introduction processes for cats. Be sure to introduce them very very very slowly.

Ella's wild ways may help the new boy lose some weight so maybe he will be more energetic then.
