Ella screams and she was quiet when I picked her.

A screaming cat is particularly fun at 4am, when you've turned over in bed so she thinks it's feeding time. My neighbours love me

Luckily Eric hasn't caught on to that one yet, he just follows me to the toilet, tries to get in it (whilst I'm on it) then follows me back to the bedroom

my boy was a little chatty at the breeders house, he got home and became a lot more chatty. Once we figured whats he's asking or chatting about - we can kinda control if he overdoes it.
My girl on the other side was very quiet at the breeders and when we got home first few months. after spending some time with our boy I think she must have picked it up from him, she is now chatting as well ! not as much as our boy though - which is good . no idea how would i deal with two chatting bengals !

Hmm... Maybe I'll go for the nice middle ground and ask the breeder to keep an eye on the kitten that's sometimes quiet, sometimes noisy and hope they stay like that! Either that or I'm definitely going for reverse psychology.

My neighbours wake me up at 06.13 EVERY morning by throwing bottles into their recycling bin when they go off to work / buy the Sunday papers.... I therefore have no problems with Merlin shouting the house down when I come home after a late shift - 2 or 3 am - and waking THEM up!

I find the best way is to open a tin of tuna and count to ten. Normally by seven he is at 165 decibels or thereabouts - He He! He has an amazing repertoire of 'barking', screeching, miaowwwwwwWWING, and the occasional cute chirrup. He also is a chatterbox on the phone - I can put the phone on speaker and walk away, and ten minutes later he's still talking with my Dad or Grandson! And they say I'M MAD.....!

Neighbours three houses away across the back garden though there was a cat trapped one day and it was simply His Lordship demanding to be let in through the cat-flap because I was in the kitchen and therefore why should HE open it???

I did reserve an apartment over the weekend. Kind of small but I'm hoping I can make it work. There's plenty of space to exercise my kitty as well. It's a very pet friendly complex. Being that a lot of the residents there are students at my school, and all our degrees mean we're involved in either music, film, or gaming, the complex has done a lot to sound proof each apartment. Granted, I'm sure it's not impenetrable but it is pretty effective so maybe it'll only be me listening to screeching cat and barking dog while everyone else just hears a soft muffled sound.

Or at least I can hope.

I hate to break this to you, but my vet says they can tell a bengal or a siamese is in the surgery just by the decibel level....

As a former Tonkinese breeder, I can tell you that I never sold a Kitten that didn't talk!

From the time when each litter was born, I would join in on the conversation that the babies were having with their mom, mimicking the sounds of the mother. I would also spend time sitting with them, with my hand just laying in the midst of the babies, all the while meowing to them. They would climb all over my hand, smelling me and mew little 'greetings' to me. by the time they were 4 - 5 weeks old, I could meow from another room, and they would all answer me... even the moms. I was just another noisy Kitten in the litter. All my cats talked to me, even the ones that were not born here. when they meow, I meow, then they meow, then I meow... well you get the picture! They each had their own sound, some screamed, some yeowled, some chirped & mewed, I mimic each of them then the chatter takes off! Some days it was a regular 'chorus line' here.

I'm down to 2 Tonks now, and they both instruct me in my daily service to them. One of them actually sits next to my pillow at night when she thinks I should be going to bed and starts calling for me, full volume, till I show up, then she waits for me the lift the covers for her to get in 'her spot' along the side of me with my arm as her pillow; she chirps, nose bumps my nose and goes to sleep.
