hello, whats the biggest breed i can keep legally without a DWA licence here in the uk.

i have seen some beautiful cats for sale, and some beautiful pictures aswell. the ones that appeal to me more are the bigger ones.

i am under the understanding to keep SERVALS i need a licence ect.... but i think a serval is a bit TOO wild for me to keep.
but i love the size of the serval.
i also love the leapord spots on the asian leopard cat .. they are gawjus
i want a bengal or similar patterned cat thats a big step up from the size of a common house cat
what is the biggest breed i can buy without needing a licence.

In a simple answer...........NONE

You need a DWA license for any cat that is counted as wild, you also need to provide adequate housing too. It's not as simple as owning a cat and you need to put a lot of time into it. There are people out there that think it's 'cool' to own a wild animal and yet they really have no clue about looking after them.

An asian leopard cat and an F1 bengal will need a DWA. Also keep in mind that they are NOT cuddly pets (asian leopard, servals, scottish wild). Even captive bred, they still need to be treated like a wild animal.

I would assume then that you would have your property inspected on a regular basis by the RSPCA and alike.

You would be best off contacting a local wildlife department tbh. Google breeders in your region, have a talk to them that have F1's ore wilds.

I vote for maine coons, they are big, look wildish and make good house cats, although be prepared for the grooming and their random cheekiness lol
