I currently have a 16 week old male Bengal that is eighth (8) generation, and I am hooked on him! I would like to start looking into getting him a playmate, but I am not sure what to look for. The breeder I got my little man from has a fifth (5) gen female and a sixth (6) gen female available. I haven't been able to find much on the personalities of these earlier generations, whether or not they make good house pets, and if they would get along with my current male. Does anyone have any experience with mixing sexes and generations? And if so, how did it , or didn't it, work out? Thanks!

Its popular to go for two boys or a girl and boy - simply because it's easier to introduce a boy to an already established cat!
Once you hit F5 or higher, they are all pretty much the same temperament wise - just more levels back to ALC!

It is better if you can do the intro while he is still young enough to bond without feeling the need to fight - that way they will be life buddies. And you have a better chance with introducing a female if that is what you want - The boys do tend to be slightly more laid back characters, though, so if you want two lap cats, stick with boys! (I know females are also / often softies, but they can be the more aloof of the sexes).

One mandatory requirement, now you have posted, is PICTURES!!!! Lots and lots of them......

I have an adult SBT girl (Ember) and introduced an F3 boy (Cassius). They get on like a house on fire. There were a few issues at the introduction stage, but to be honest I'd expected far worse.

As mentioned, once you get past F4 a Bengal is considered a domestic cat, and there isn't really much difference in personality or temperament.

Introducing kittens is always easier than introducing adult cats. So if you're going to get a second kitten, my advice is to do it sooner rather than later...

Yeah once past the EG mark I think you are good to go! I would pick the kitten that best matches your boys personality which will more than likely be the other male! Boys like to play rough and girls like to cat fight, they swat smack wrestle a bit and run. While males wresle bite smack punch chase and repeat! Although BB is a girl she tends to play more like a male cat! So I think it should be based on personality! Good luck and pics PLEASE!
