Mystre was sooo helpful to me when I was deciding. Even though they knew I would probably not buy from them (due to price - I was a poor student) Mark was of tremendous help talking to me about various breeders he knew, worked with, etc. He recommended Bengaland in PA. I was actually going to buy from them but unfortunately, timing on the waitlist didn't work out. I would, however, totally recommend them.
I would also recommend Hunters Ridge, where I got my two - they are in FL (I had my babies shipped since I was in Chicago at the time). I love my babies, and HR has great cats, but I do have to say - the breeder, Sherlean, was not the best in terms of communication. However, since my boys are beautiful, healthy, and well-socialized, that's a minor quibble. I also really liked Legacie in the Chicagoland area as well.
if you're willing to branch into Canada, Mara at Dazzledots is also a great bet, as is Kanpur Bengals.
